Challenge complete!Word: Paris
Book: The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley
A good twisty mystery with multiple villains, see my review here:

I read The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. I enjoyed all of the plot twists and the unexpected outcomes of the characters.
I read Ducks: Two years in the oil sands. It was a graphic novel memoir. Definitely an interesting, educational story. But alas, I don’t tend to like nonfiction so it won’t be my new favorite
I read “Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery” by Jenny Colgan. I was not a huge fan but I did not read the first two books in the series which may have made a difference.
I read The Lost Girls Of Paris by Pam Jenoff. I enjoyed this and look forward to reading some of her other books.
I forgot to post here! • Fair Rebel - Steph Swainston

A 5 star rating might come as a surprise considering the amount of time it took me to finish this fairly short novel. The problem is (aside from my usual excuse of chronic migraines), I read the first 4 books in the series a LONG time ago - sometime before 2016, which is when I started using Goodreads more diligently - so my brain was a bit foggy on details and characters. I should probably have done a reread before diving into this 5th book. Regardless of any minor confusion on my part, the fact remains that this fantasy world is amazing in scope, and also delightfully bizarre. The Fourlands is a fantastic mix of both primitive and modern conventions - a place where gunpowder and rifles are a relatively new discovery/invention, yet items such as sunglasses and jeans/t-shirts exist. A centuries long war against a giant insectoid race spilling into the Fourlands from another dimension, is the main source of conflict throughout the series. I can honestly say I haven’t ever come across anything even remotely like it, which can be a breath of fresh air within the fantasy/sci-fi genre.
In November I read the following books with the following words: Paris, Hidden, Sparrow, Realm, Two, Fair, Street, SayParis: Paris for One and Other Stories by Jojo Moyes 4 stars; The Paris Seamstressby Natasha Lester 4 stars; The Paris Daughter by Kristin Harmel 4 stars
Hidden: The Hidden by Jessica Verday 3 stars- 3rd book of the trilogy, enjoyed the 1st book more than the others.
Sparrow: Sparrow: The True Story of Joan of Arc by Michael Morpurgo 4stars
Realm: Tales from the Perilous Realm by J.R.R. Tolkien 4 stars; The Realms Thereunder by Ross Lawhead 3 stars
Two: Two Degrees by Alan Gratz 4 stars - follows 3 lives and how they bring awareness to the effects of climate change; Two Feet Under by C.C. Hunter 4 stars; Two Nights by Kathy Reichs 3 stars; Between Two Kingdoms: A Memoir of a Life Interrupted by Suleika Jaouad 4 stars
Fair: Fair Blows the Wind by Louis L'Amour 3 stars - I'm not much of a western fan, the audio was not as exciting--maybe the book would get me more immersed in it.
Street: The Last House on the Street by Diane Chamberlain 5 stars; A Streetcar Named Desireby Tennessee Williams 3 stars
Say: Say Cheese and Die! by R.L. Stine 4 stars-- short read-- love these thrills from RL Stine and they take me back to the 80s scary stories
Challenge Complete!Key word: Hidden
Read Her Hidden Genius by Marie Benedict, which met both challenges this month.
Very interesting historical fiction on the woman who was instrumental in discovering the double helix structure of DNA, but didn't get the credit she deserved.
