This wasn't a bad book. I really got into it after the first few chapters. The world and character building were really good. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating was because at times; I found it very predictable. I like books that surprise me with twists and turns that I never saw coming. Other than that, it was a good read, and I can't wait to see how the other books in the series pan out.
Ilsa is an 18-year-old butcher's apprentice. However, things aren't always what they seem to be. The appearance of a shadowy character from a past she doesn't either remember or know about brings her rushing into the adventure of her life; quite literally. Now her, and butcher Ram are on a trip back to their (unbeknownst to Ilsa) homeland. This trip proves to be the doing and undoing of everything Ilsa thought about herself and her life.

This is one of my favorite series. This was such a good book. I enjoyed following all the characters again. I also loved getting to know Nina a little bit better.

Starting this book was kind of a hesitation for me. So much, that I passed it by on the library shelf the first time I went there. I hesitated for two reasons. One, because the biographies/memoirs/autobiographies are sometimes a difficult thing for me to read. I have to really like the person/character/etc. Secondly, while I love the overall Harry Potter series, I've never really been a fan of Draco Malfoy's.
Now that I have actually read this book, I am completely floored. I absolutely ADORED this book. So much that I have the audiobook version on hold on Libby, just so I can hear him read it. The best thing about this book was that it read like we were literally having a conversation in person. This book revealed not only a whole new side to the character of Draco Malfoy, but for the man behind the character!

This was such an interesting cozy! Lots of twists I never saw coming. Loved it. I also loved seeing the recipes! Talk about something sounding mouth-watering!

Finished my first ever graphic novel. The Seven Deadly Sins volume 1. 3 stars
It wasn't bad. I'll probably finish out the series, but after that, I'll probably never read a graphic novel again. I don't care much for graphic novels.

Wow. Just wow. I knew that the American Indians suffered numerous ways at the hands of the American white people; but I never knew about the Osage's struggles specifically.
I actually picked up this book for a reading challenge. Even though I didn't win (for lack of better word) at the reading challenge, I am so glad that I finished this book.
This true crime book did a really good job of mixing history and storytelling. It included the perfect amount of historical background without bogging the reading down. The book itself read like a fiction novel.
The book is definitely heavy at times, but it is well worth the read!

This book was interesting. I really found the characters so relatable, especially Harriet. I've never related to a book character the way I did to her. It took me a little bit to read this book. Parts of it were kind of slow. Overall though, it was a good read.

Still not exactly thrilled about reading graphic novels, hence the 3 star rating. However, I did actually enjoy reading this one more than I did Volume 1. Idk if it was because it was easier to read due to me knowing what to expect this time or what. But, I definitely enjoyed reading it more. Still not a fan of the cliffhanger ending though.

Halfway up the mountain!!!!!

I picked this audiobook because it included one of the keywords in a challenge that I attempt to do every year, The Girl XOXO Monthly Keyword Challenge.
This book is definitely an interesting read or listen. In the beginning, you find two orphaned characters named Jake and Peewee. You don't find out for at least a few chapters, that Peewee is actually Jake's sister. It was a shocking surprise. Jake dreams of starting his own auto mechanic garage in a rural Indiana town. They are constantly having to compete with the shady and cheating Kirbys who also have a garage in their town.
Anyway, they meet some sorority girls who are looking for somewhere to have a picnic and Jake and Peewee's lives are changed forever; especially when the sorority girls get the job of town librarian. Not only do they open up Jake and Peewee's lives, they also encourage them both to chase their dreams.

I was kind of skeptical going into this book. It had several bad reviews. However, I'm glad I did. It was actually pretty good.
While this particular book probably isn't one I will ever reread, I'm glad I finished it. I gave it a 4-star review because of originality. PI David Lowell is an absolutely original character. I thoroughly enjoyed reading his story.

** spoiler alert ** Sophie Winston does it again!!!! To date, I think this is my favorite Domestic Diva book yet! The only thing that I was disappointed with in this book is that it didn't tell about her and Mars' conversation following him kissing her. Mars sure was acting odd during this book! I can't wait to find out if the situation is elaborated on in the next book.
This book also did something that no other book in this series has done. It had me hanging on the edge of my seat almost the entire book. I loved it!
As always, I can't wait to read the next installment!

The rating I gave this book isn't entirely accurate. I would rate it between a 2.5 and a 3. I like the book overall. It' wasn't a bad book really. There were a couple of reasons that I rated it so low. First off, it kind of ended in a cliff hanger. I always rate those books lower. I absolutely hate cliff hangers. Secondly, there were two different stories in the book. The first one was the Say Cheese and Die Screaming and the second one was something about Horrorland. I just couldn't get into the second book like I did the first. To me, the only connection was that the character of Julie was in both books. It didn't really even give much of a explanation of how she got to Horrorland.

This book has been on my TBR for a number of years. I've always liked ghost stories. More recently though, I've gotten into wanting to read more books from or about Kentucky. This book does both. Interesting stories. The greatest thing about this book though, is that I can finally mark it off my TBR list. :). That's always a win. :)

Wow! There's only one other book that has left me feeling like the end of this book did! It was Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale.
Talk about a rollercoaster!!!!!! The beginning of this book started out slow like a rollercoaster. But once it got to going, you better make sure you were hanging on tightly! It'll throw you through nonstop loop after loop.
The main character, Jessie, is a teenage girl living in 1960s North Carolina. Her daddy and brother are moonshiners. The only problem with this is that moonshining is illegal. The Revenuers are closing in. Jessie struggles with this reality because of her perceptions about what happened to her momma when she was 4 years old. She blames her father for her mother's death. Everything isn't how it first appears though. The book is her figuring everything out and what that means for her past, present and future. While she is trying to untangle her feelings on moonshining, she is also dealing with being a teenager and her own personal monster, as she calls it.

Loved this book. It was such a good holiday story. I really loved all the references from A Christmas Carol. The only problem I had with it was that it ended really quickly. Almost too quickly really.

This was a cute romantic comedy that gave off The Nightmare Before Christmas vibes.

Such a good book
This book was so good. I stayed up reading way later than I should have! I haven't done that in years! Lol.
I just couldn't put it down! I loved everything about this book! The characters, the storyline, everything!
