The Muller Effect discussion

Vanya sat on the ground, out of uniform and in a pair of ratty jeans and an old band t-shirt, sharpening a knife. Her power wasn't flashy or useful in battle, so she tended to rely on physical weapons or making others fight for her.

Vanya is bored, so she goes out to the Café. Knives can only be sharpened so many times, after all.

Vanya walked, well, almost glided into the warehouse, her presence silent and heavy. She went up to the top of the warehouse, where she knew Ryley would be. Unlike most people, she liked Ryley, because Ryley didn't talk. A simple presence felt like enough to Vanya.

Ryley was sitting on the edge, letting her legs dangle. Her hover board was next to her as well has her swords. She turned her head slightly when she heard someone going onto the roof with her.

Vanya didn't smile, didn't say anything, but just nodded in Ryley's direction, sipping on coffee that tastes too bitter despite the fact Vanya had ordered it that way and flipped open a book.

Ryley glanced at the other. She knew her but not very well, neither of them talked much. She looked back down at the empty streets and sighed.

"Bored?" Vanya asked, setting her drink down.

Ryley looked at her and shook her head. “Tired.” She said. She reached up and tried fixing her hair but failed so she left it.

"That's a shame. I am," Vanya said, "How do you feel about robbing a bank?"

She shrugged. “Maybe.” She said, kicking her legs a little.

Vanya liked petty crimes. It was a reminder that the Heroes and Shatter Labs may be powerful, but they could be hurt. More specifically, they could be hurt by Vanya. "I'll ask the boss," Vanya said, "But I would suit up if I were you."

Ginny walked in and saw a few people in the warehouse, "You want to rob a bank?" she asked her. Ginny was the leader of the SPM, she never let anything past her. especially crimes that she could go on.

Ryley turned around so she was facing the others. She stayed quiet though.

Vanya offered Ginny a rare smile. Not because she wanted to, but because it served a purpose. "I was just about to ask you. Feel up for it today?" she asked.

"What do you think ms. Vanya?" she asked her, "You can answer honestly if you want" she says as she smirked, she had a devious smile when it came to crime.

Ryley stood up and took her board and swords. “I’ll go.” She said, turning her ears down, wary of the bosses sonic scream.

"Ryley, you want to go?" she says as she looked at the two, "Okay, let's rob a bank then" she says. she knew the members were scared of her sonic screams.

Vanya dropped her smile and headed down to the ground floor of the warehouse, slipping on an all black suit with a hood and a silver mask. She didn't have a villain name, though she supposed the Heroes had some sort of alias for her, but she did have a signature look. Vanya checked to see if her braid was secure and went back to Ryley and Ginny. "So, I was thinking Citizen's Bank," Vanya said conversationally.

Not only did Vanya pass it on the way from the coffee shop, but it was where Shatter Labs did their business. Or at least, the place Vanya knew about. She assumed a corporation like Shatter would have many places of business.

Ryley was adjusting her swords on her waist, then looked up. “Isn’t that where Shatter does most of their transactions?” She asked.

Ginny was in a red suit with a red scarlet mask, "Yeah, they do Ryley...Vanya why that bank?" she asked as she sighed. Every super knew her as Havoc.

"Isn't that what we do here? Damage Shatter?" Vanya asked rhetorically, checking her belt for her knives, "Besides, I scoped during my coffee break. It's a busy day, which means we can be in and out quickly, because the staff will be preoccupied with everyone else. No reason to even get in a fight with the Heroes."

“Word around the street thought is that the kid with weird powers has been running around the city, doing who knows what.” Ryley said, speaking up finally. “What we end up crossing paths?”

"It's a big city," Vanya shrugged, "And like I said, they won't even know we were there."

"What kid Ryley?" she asked as she turned her attention to Vanya, "I was hoping there'd be supers, but yes that's our mission" she says as she was putting her boots on. "Are we ready?" she asked the two.

Vanya nodded and walked out the door, trusting the other two would follow.

"Vanya!" Ginny yelled out as she held a bag out, "You're forgetting something"

Vanya looked behind her and grabbed the bag. "Thanks," she said.

Ryley started toward Ginny. “The one with the protectors, the one the Heros want.” She said. “Maybe if we can get him on our side…” She started.

Vanya paused when she heard what Ryley said. That would be the biggest F you she could give to Shatter. Taking away what they wanted most. The wheels in her head were turning.

"We have to change the plan then," Vanya said, turning around to see the other two women, "If we want to steal him. We'd have to change tactics completely, but I think it could work," she started to mumbled to herself, thoughts pouring out faster than she would say them, her face a bit dreamy.

"Smart Ryley, you do that," she says as she followed the two girls.

Vanya returned back to reality. "To get him on our side, we have to make a spectacle. A show. We have to get the Heroes involved." she explained, "If we make ourselves look like the good side, which, in my opinion, we are, then we can perhaps sway that kid to join us. He probably has doubts already, or else he would've joined the Heroes by now."

“I’ve actually been looking into it. This group, they Protectors are like vigilantes.” She said. “And this boy, he seems to be the one everyone wants. They Heros want him so they can beat us, Shatter wants him because they want to research.” She glanced at the others. “I say, we get the boy, and use him to defeat both of them. And they think the Heros are corrupt, so they would right in that aspect.”

"So, we're in agreement? We'll make a scene, enough to attract both the Heroes and Protectors, and then show him how hurtful the Heroes can be. How...cruel they are. If we do that, then we can work in the future to bring him to SPM," Vanya said.

“That’s gonna need a lot of manipulation.” He said. “Unfortunately the Heros have a guy that can do just that.” She said. (That’s a character I’m working on.) “If those two run into each other then we’re in big trouble.”

Ginny clapped, "Marvelous planning, now can we get on with the plan to rob the bank?" she says with a slight sonic scream in the mix. "We have to get a move on!"
