Schwab is becoming one of my go-to authors. I've enjoyed all of her books. Can't wait to start this.

I haven't read any of her books. I will start later.

I started but didn't get very far in. If you like this book you should read some of her other ones.
is one of my absolute favorites. I would definitely re-read!

I like Olivia. I can't figure out how old she is. But she seems young and the book almost reads more like a middle-grade book than YA to me. Seeing ghosts would be neat...sometimes. The way she sees them, parts missing, wouldn't be. The houses are creepy but a neat concept.
I liked the book, but it's easily my least favorite by this author. I felt it was missing something...depth and character development . Everything just happened quickly without much explanation, and there was so much potential for more.
But that cover is gorgeous!

I like Olivia. She definitely has some anger issues but rightly so. I can't imagine being mute and unable to communicate with others. I would not want her gift of seeing dead people. I'm behind. I will finish later today. She just got to the house and asking all the questions.

Friday would be better. I'm going to download the others from your library so I have them when we're ready to read them.

Description:Olivia Prior has grown up in Merilance School for Girls, and all she has of her past is her mother’s journal—which seems to unravel into madness. Then, a letter invites Olivia to come home to Gallant. Yet when Olivia arrives, no one is expecting her. But Olivia is not about to leave the first place that feels like home; it doesn’t matter if her cousin Matthew is hostile, or if she sees half-formed ghouls haunting the hallways.
Olivia knows that Gallant is hiding secrets, and she is determined to uncover them. When she crosses a ruined wall at just the right moment, Olivia finds herself in a place that is Gallant—but not. The manor is crumbling, the ghouls are solid, and a mysterious figure rules over all. Now Olivia sees what has unraveled generations of her family, and where her father may have come from.
Olivia has always wanted to belong somewhere, but will she take her place as a Prior, protecting our world against the Master of the House? Or will she take her place beside him?
