I just finished The Final Revival of Opal & Nev for my 70's decade. It is a decent book but if I were to recommend a book, very similar to that, it would be Daisy Jones and the Six which is a fantastic read.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the 1980s?

I liked the young adult novel Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell.

I suggest Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid - a great read especially in the summertime!

I loved Malibu rising. Unfortunately I already read it haha.
