I feel like the best way to get a seat where you want to sit is to communicate with your teacher why you would like a different spot. if your reason for needing a closer seat has to do with poor eyesight, they will definitely be more accommodating.

if you aren't in an assigned seating situation, showing up to class earlier gives you a better chance at the seat you want

(1)We choose are seats in three classes and then have to sit there the entire quarter
(2)Then in two classes it’s free for all
(3)Then in the others it’s assigned seats :(

number ones my favorite because in the free for all everyone sits in the same places unless someone messes everyone up and at least in number one you have a guaranteed seat by ur friends :)
