I've decided to relive the madness and do NaNoWriMo again this year... it was totally insane but a whole heap of fun last year. So, anyone else doing it? Want to be a NaNoWriMo buddy?

I'd never even heard of NaNoWriMo until I joined goodreads a couple of months ago, so this will be my first time. I figure it'll be useful to get me past a writing block I've hit recently. The competition of a word-count war combined with a deadline should do the trick. (I blame the block on too much editing... it killed the joy).

Sooo... if anybody wants to add me as a NaNoWriMo buddy and help this writer get back in the game, I'd welcome the assistance/encouragement/competition.

I'm doing it as well - 1st time, but I did 100K in the mock NaNo in July, and I did the script frenzy in April.

I'm aiming for the complete 100K novel this time as well. I'm going to spend most of next week working out an idea. plot, characters, world and so on.

I had great plans of preparing for this year's NaNoWriMo... but I fear that, as the time is ticking away, I shall be starting cold on the opening day, just like last year.

I'm still thinking about joining in all the fun. But is it possible to write 50k words when there are two young monsters running around the house? I can't actually lock them up--child services frowns on that kind of thing, LOL.

I think my biggest problem will be the same problem I have now. I'm too easily distracted. Stupid facebook games...

I got to 70k last year with one monster (my husband!) running around the house.

It's fun going for the 50k target and knowing so many people are joining in and doing the same... it's like one big game. Better than facebook!

You make a good point, Gina. I'm sure if I put my mind to it, I can do it. And heck, I would already have a bunch of buddies to nag encourage me. ;o)
