We get the unsub’s point of view early on. What, if anything, did you find useful in figuring out his motives and identity?

Nothing. I absolutely hate reading the killer's POV. I feel like we're cheating since the cops don't get to know what the killer is thinking.

Nothing here either. I had no firm direction on who it could be. I kept waiting for another character to show up and when I realized that the killer was already present, I still had no clue.

I agree. I didn't get anything from the killer's point of view except that he was crazy. I didn't figure out his identity, until very close to the reveal. Although his alias was on my radar.

I figured out he was determined and hiding in their midst. It broadened my suspect list.

I agree, Jonetta. I actually love getting the killer's pov in most cases. In this case, it told me that he was walking among them, a chameleon hiding in plain sight ...that he was sure he couldn't be caught...that he was arrogant and determined to see it through. It did not tell me his identity - which I like. It usually feeds my investigative juices to get in the killer's head...I find myself searching for clues to his/her identity.

Sandra, I also love getting the killer’s point of view…most of the time. In the DI Kim Stone series, however, it can be terrifying!

I think that’s why I focused so much on that rented house across the street. It felt like it was the ideal place to hide in plain sight.
