Tony wants more from Adam who, at the moment, only wants a sexual interlude with Tony, a one and done. What worked right for Tony in getting past a couple of Adam’s barriers?

Tony is a good guy. He is patient and confident that he sees Adam's heart. Tony believes, deep down, that Adam wants a real relationship moving forward. His goal is to showed Adam that Tony can be that relationship.

This situation with Adam developing feelings for Tony so quickly felt very contrived to me based on Adam's previous characterization. I found it difficult to believe that Tony was able to get past Adam's psychological barriers in one evening.

I think Tony was genuinely interested in a relationship. Adam heard something in Tony that was different, putting a tiny crack in that impenetrable wall he’s erected.

Lauren, the only reason it didn’t feel contrived is because he was so vulnerable having just left Robin and Jules, knowing with finality it was now a forever closed door.
