We get another glimpse of the impact of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell when Adam learns that Tony collapsed outside of his old apartment and he has to talk in code to alert the Team of his whereabouts. Would it have occurred to you that Adam reporting that Tony was at his apartment would put his military career at risk? Did it come as a surprise that Adam used incredible foresight in seeing to Tony?

I didn't think about how far-reaching Don't Ask, Don't Tell had on military personnel. I looked at within the military but didn't think about how family and friends had to coat their words when talking to their or co-workers. You can't call a boss and simply say, "My friend is sick."

It didn't surprise me at all that Adam knew what he had to do. He made a mistake with his family and learned from that lesson. He also knew how Robin struggled coming out.

It actually never occurred to me that something as innocuous as reporting that Tony had been at Adam's apartment could get Tony in a world of trouble. Adam was smart with how he handled the situation.

Yes, Adam was smart here, and for once seemed to be putting someone else ahead of himself.

That’s a great point, Sharon, about Adam’s experience with his own family. He certainly wouldn’t want to be the cause of that for Tony.

I have to admit most of what Adam did here was utterly unselfish. I was quite surprised. By now, though, I think Adam was completely hooked into Tony’s world. But, it was also giving him much needed meaning.
