Name: Nathan MillerAge: 24
Looks: https://images.app.goo.gl/bX9nrCcX7Ar...
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: Funny and talkative, but can be a bit overwhelming at times. Likes meeting new people but doesn't really know how to act when he does.
Nathan looked out his window as he watched a moving van pull unto his neighbor's driveway. He knew the old owners had moved, but he didn't know someone had purchased the house so quickly. He slipped on some shoes and opened the door to greet his new neighbor.
Cecily climbed out the drivers side door, her hair pulled up in a ponytail, her clothes hand-me-downs and at least two sizes too big. She shoved the door of the small moving truck open and grabbed a box, debating whether she could manage two.
Nathan walked up to the girl that had gotten out of the car. "Hey! So, you're the one living here now?"
Cecily jumped a little. "Oh, um, yeah!" She managed. She decided one box was enough, and wondered if it would be rude if she walked away to take it to the house.
She allowed a small laugh. "Nope, thanks though!" Readjusting her grip on the box, she carried it to the front door, then frowned when she realized she hadn't unlocked it yet. With a sigh, the pulled out the new keys and unlocked the door, pushing it open wide enough to set the boxes in the entry
Nathan blinked a couple times, wondering if maybe he had intruded when she wasn't in the mood to meet any of her neighbors. He shrugged it off looked at the house, this being the first time he'd cared to notice it.
Cecily set the box inside and trotted back to the truck, picking up two smaller boxes. She gave the neighbor a nervous glance. She'd never lived in a neighborhood like this before, and she didn't know what she was expected to do.
Nathan looked away from the house and back at his new neighbor. "Well, I won't bother you. I'm sure you want to get settled in. Just one last question, what's your name?"
"Nice to meet you, Cecily." Nathan said, holding his hand out to give her a handshake. "I'm Nathan."
She fumbled with the boxes awkwardly, before giving up and just setting them down so she could shake his hand. "Yup." She glanced at what she assumed to be his house. "Nice lights," She commented.
"Thanks," Nathan said with a smile as he looked at his own house. "I've always been a bit of an overachiever when it comes to Christmas."
Cecily nodded. She hoped those lights wouldn't be an issue when it got darker. Picking up her boxes again, she wondered how long it would take to unload the trailer. She didn't have too much, but it was still going to be annoying to go through.
Nathan gave Cecily a small wave and started back towards his house. "I suppose I'll let you get to it then. I'll talk to you later."
"Mhm-" She started, but the precarious tower of- now 5 -boxes tipped to one side. "Ah!" She rushed to correct her balance before they could fall. With a bright red face, she hurried to set the stack inside.
"Oh, shoot." Nathan said, rushing to help her. "Let me take a couple of boxes. It will make it quicker and easier."
Her face got redder, but she allowed him to take a few of the boxes. He was right, of course. It went way faster, and now she would have to repay him somehow. [BAHAHA Now it's going Friendly Acquaintances > Enemies > Lovers]
((XDD Fr.))Nathan smiled as he put the last box inside. "Anything else I could do to help? I have too much free time on my hands, so I'd be happy to lend a hand anywhere I could."
Cecily momentarily considered it, but then shook her head. "No, thank you. I would only be halfway done if you hadn't helped." She shot him a grateful smile. "I'll let you know, though." She wouldn't. That was embarrassing enough as is.
"Alright. Well, if you change your mind, I'm just a few steps away." Nathan looked away, hoping he hadn't made her uncomfortable, and walked back toward his own house.
((time skip-ish? also i gtg to bed, ttyt))Cecily spent the rest of the day unpacking and brainstorming ideas of what to give Nathan as a thank you gift.
((Yeah, you can let me know when tomorrow. Bye! Sleep well!))Nathan stepped into his house, still overthinking his conversation with Cecily.
[I'll be back until 2:00 Mountain Standard Time, and then again at 8:45 until about 9:30 MST. :D]The house grew dark as the day went on, the only thing cutting through the dusk was... Cecily glanced out her side window. Those are bright... She frowned, tugged out her messy ponytail, and turned away from the window. "Oh well, he'll have to turn them off eventually."
((Hold up. You're Mountain Standard Time??))Nathan admired his Christmas lights that Cecily had mentioned earlier. He usually didn't turn them off until well after the sun had risen, and turned them on again just as the sun was setting.
[...Yeah, why?]After finishing unpacking, she headed up the small flight of stairs to the only bed and bath, and took a long hot bath, letting her sore muscles loosen. Afterwards, she braided her hair and sat on the queen sized bed with the lights turned out. It might only be 8:00pm, but she was ready for bed
[is 8:00pm okay for rn?]
((No way. I am too.))Nathan was sitting in the couch, watching television, nowhere near being tired.
(Yeah.))
[Dang really?! I NEVER meet anyone online in MST DX]She rolled over and her eyes flew open. Those lights were bright . Cecily flinched, stood up, walked over to the window, and closed her curtains. The bright colors still filtered through, and she groaned.
((Sameee!))Nathan turned off the TV - nothing good was on right now anyway - and sighed. "This house is boring," he muttered to himself.
Cecily shoved a blanket over the curtain rod. The lights still flashed behind it. "What are those, Ultra LEDs?!" Snatching up her shoes, she slipped them on and jogged out into the cold. She knocked on Nathans door, wrapping her arms tightly around herself.
Nathan walked over to the door, confused who would be here at this time of night. He opened it and saw Cecily. "Hey! Cecily? What's up?"
"Oh, yeah. They are, aren't they?" Nathan said, smiling. "Wait.." His smile slowly faded. "Is that a bad thing?"
Cecily blushed. "I mean, no, but... yes?... It's just-- I'm trying to sleep and nothing is working- where do you get bulbs so powerful?"
Nathan let out a small laugh. "I don't even remember, I think I got them online. Did you want me to turn them off?"
