Holly - book 80
I can’t wait for this book! I’ve been collecting Stephen King books for a while now and every book added makes me even more happy! The way he writes stories is something else!
I am so excited for Holly to get her own book! Love her and loved seeing her in the outsider! But a whole book just for her?! I can not wait!
I just started reading King this last year. I wished I would have read when I was growing up. I guess it’s never to late to start lol. Can’t wait for the new book. Does anyone know the order in which Holly is to be read in? If I’m not mistaken Mr Mercedes is first ……

Meh. Not a favorite character, but I’ll still get the book for my shelves. Maybe after this one he’ll have it all out of system? 🤷🏻♀️ I’m willing to give every book a chance, but I’m not rushing out to get the newest copy…
I really like Holly as well. I didn't when she first appeared in Mr. Mercedes, but she has absolutely grown on me and that's in no small part to the two actresses that portray her on screen. It's crazy that they can be so different in every possible way, and yet both have the right "feel" of Holly.
I'm so up for it. Holly has quickly become one of my favourite King characters and I was kinda waiting for this.

I'm with you Dana, I'm pretty meh about Holly as well. Of course, I'll read, and I'll probably enjoy - everything King writes goes down very easily for me. But surely there are more interesting characters to go on and on about?
Good deal. Hardly remember Holly in the fantastic bill hodges trilogy, but it's King so it's an obvious day 1 purchase!
I was happy when I saw the title! It’s got to be something special for him to name it just Holly. Can’t wait!!

I thought that the two entirely different women who played the role were each, in their own way, perfect for the part. Of course, when the series first came on I couldn't wait to see how they would portray Holly. I loved her. Then I was really happy to see an entirely different interpretation.
I just preordered Holly! I have yet to read all the books she's in but plan to in August to jump right into this in September, I'm excited :-)
Definitely will be reading this. I kind of like Holly. And, she's managed to stay alive through like 4 or 5 Stephen King books! So that alone makes her a badass.

Red and Andy in The Shawshank Redemption are perfect examples of this. The fact that Holly is portrayed by two very different actresses is a nice example of a character being more than the sum of their parts, but rather a feeling or mood.
Did that make sense? O_o
These days, the whole multiverse thing is all the rage and can justify those actor variations. I thought Idris Elba was a good cast for Roland with this concept in mind but they ended to ruin the movie anyway. It's kinda sad because it feels like Stephen King got the ball rolling with that multi-verse idea in his books (or was there anyone else before?), but then Marvel, DC, and others swooped in and claimed it as their own.
If a screen adaptation of "The Dark Tower" ever comes to fruition, it is likely that many people will accuse it of being unoriginal and accuse it of copying Marvel's multiverse concept.
Stephen King has always been way ahead of his time with his stories.
As much as I love King, the majority of multiverse comic storylines were written quite some time to the Dark Towers
I like holly as a character, is she my favourite? No. Would I be sad if she died? Would depend on the context. I'm not really excited at the book but I'll obviously still read it the day it comes out

I inquired about the availability of "Slipping into the Green" in epub format as I now have some free time to read. It appears that it is no longer available on Amazon.
Please inform me if you can provide the epub version or send me a private message if you have the means to contact me directly.
Since you kindly took the time to read one of my stories unexpectedly, I would be delighted to return the favor by reading one of yours.
I read the Bill Hodges trilogy so I am excited to read Holly. I’m reading King’s books in order on publication date so it will take awhile and I need to read The Outsider first.
I don't know when I will get to Holly have so much reading material I am trying to read. I still need to read the Bill Hodges trilogy, The Outsider and If it Bleeds before I get to Holly.

Elder - We revised and republished the story with a lot of fixes under the title: THE PROMISE OF THE GATEWAY. Since then I've also written SPECIES II. If you send me your contact info at my never-used account: dosmilagrospress@gmail.com, I'll use it this once, and send you a copy.
Sorry about the use of this space for a personal message, folks. we haven't been able to hook up any other way. I'm looking forward to HOLLY too BTW, and plan to use whisper sync to listen to the audio and read the e-book at the same time reading at night and listening when driving. It's working really well for me these days.

I pre-ordered this a while back and was told it is on its way to me. Can’t wait!!! I love Holly and so happy that she gets to have a whole book to herself.
I have been known to take a sick or vacation day when a new King book comes out so that I can tear through it quickly, then I usually read it slowly and savor a few months later. I can't do that this time, so I'll have to put everything else aside and just read it as I can. I'm really looking froward to it. Does anyone else immediately look up the page count when a new book is available? The longer the better!

Ah, that's ok. I'll forgive him this time. :)
Nope, never to late, Anita! Great question, too. I want to revisit some of the back story as well.Smiles,

So.... It's been a minute since I have read anything... Should I read the triology before I read this novel? It's been a minute since I've read his works -AKA last read Billy Summers which was over two years ago- and I don't want to mess up the order. What do you all suggest?
Molly wrote: "So.... It's been a minute since I have read anything... Should I read the triology before I read this novel? And i think because there is now 5 stories featuring holly it would be good to get to know the character before this one
I just started it today. It is really good so far. I’m trying to slow down so I don’t read it all in one sitting. ;)
