2023 Love What You Read(athon): Individual Readathon
Duration: February 10 to February 12, 2023

In this thread you will find helpful information about our individual readathon and ask any questions you have!

Love What You Read(athon)

Welcome to 2023 Reading Challenge’s first individual readathon of the year! This February we will be hosting a 3-day individual reading challenge to celebrate the month of love!

General Information
💗 February 10 to February 12, 2023
💗 Begins and ends at midnight in your own time zone
💗 Five prompts (including any book on your TBR)
💗 Prompts may be repeated
💗 Any book formats qualify (graphic novel, large print, audio, etc.)

Once the readathon goes live, we will post a tracking and discussion thread for participants to keep everyone updated on how their reading is going and discuss. We’d love to have you join us for all of the fun but none of this is required to participate! Simply begin your reading on the 10th and conclude on the 12th.

The prompts are just guidance. The point is to read something that fits the prompts, within those three days. Whether it's just one book, or 3, 5 or more, is of less importance.

In the past, we've announced them on the 1st of the month the readathon takes place in which, for this one, happens to be a shorter timespan than usual. But I am always open to feedback and in the future for individual readathons can definitely announce the dates sooner!

We're also going to have 2 team readathons this year, one in June and one in September that hopefully you'll be able to join us for :)

I'll echo what Lisa said here and add that the goal of the readathon is to encourage us all to do a "sprint" of sorts towards our yearly/monthly/quarterly reading goals. There's no pressure to read a book for each prompt, or even any of the prompts, and I hope that miscommunication didn't cause too much stress about it!

I'd love dates asap, and definitely more than 2 weeks out but I probably just need to accept that other people don't have the same busy life that I do! A couple of weeks ago, I spend a large proportion of the weekend reading which was great & something I'd love to schedule more often & have others to connect with too!

message 24: by Robynne (new)

Robynne Lozier | 351 comments I know one book that would be perfect for this. It covers the colour pink, has a heart on the cover, and is a romance. It also has a lot of smut because it is about friends with benefits. Could be called enemies to lovers.

I love you, I hate you, by Elizabeth Davis.

I Love You, I Hate You by Elizabeth Davis

My recommendation in case you cannot find anything else.

I'll try to save at least one love book for those dates, and I also have some TBR books with hearts on the cover. I may not be able to read much that weekend (we shall see), but I'm excited for the comradery and activities.

Thanks for setting this up, bailey! 💗💕💞💕💗

It can be any book.
Bailey wrote in an earlier comment: ".....the goal of the readathon is to encourage us all to do a "sprint" of sorts towards our yearly/monthly/quarterly reading goals. There's no pressure to read a book for each prompt, or even any of the prompts...."

bailey (bailsbookshelves) | 1229 comments Michelle E wrote: "Can we ready ANY book on our TBR? Or does it have to have a love theme?"

Yes, *any* book from your TBR is perfectly acceptable! And you can read a book for any of the prompts multiple times so you could solely read books on your TBR for the readathon if you wanted. There's no obligation to read for the themed prompts if they don't interest you or if you'd rather focus on your backlog :)
