Which book are you planning to read?

If I can find a convenient audio of One Hundred and One Dalmatians, I'll refresh myself on that one at the beginning of the month. My copy of The Starlight Barking should come in mid-month.

Oops. A Tale of Two Families is not Childrens or YA. Reading the first chapter confirmed that.

I think I’ll try Midnight Kittens even though it isn’t 50 years old. I read 101 Dalmatians and Starlight Barking when I was young. I probably won’t get to it for a while; I’m currently reading enough books right now.

It started out well, so I'll continue with it.

Our children's classic cut off is 40 years or older.
In the case of reading multiple works by one author, we're not that strict-only the majority of books need to be that old, not all of them.

The Starlight Barking I am tempted to find this. Had no idea there was a sequel. Love the illustrations in the original.

Dodie Smith's birth name was Dorothy Gladys Smith. No wonder she changed it to Dodie. Unless a sibling who couldn't say Dorothy called her Dodie and it stuck.

That sounds plausible to me.

Started reading The Starlight Barking. Will probably finish this weekend.

I managed to find a reasonably priced copy of this edition .

I'm glad because the most common affordable one I could find was this one , and I didn't want to read a book with that cover in public as an adult because it looks like Lisa Frank fan fiction lol

I like the older cover too.
