Well, I'm still in the Caboose - not even started my 2nd book yet! Pace has slowed and calmed but of course I created the train theme thing that's grown by leaps and bounds. You know later in the year you might decide to go back to it. By then the overly energized and competitive will have moved on - many will be content with one round. You can always joing back in should you want.

Meanwhile, Birthday Candles.

here's a link to where Anita posted the Candles: Birthday Candles. If you need to look at the rules again, they are in the first comment in that thread. It's pretty simple: you just read a book for each of the 15 candles -- in any order you want.

Next set up a tracking thread for yourself (and for admins) here: Set up Tracking Thread. Make a note for yourself what Comment # is. Everyone has their own style. You can just mirror what I did - My Tracking - if you want. I kept it very simple.

Once you have read a book and posted it to your Snuffed Candle list, Anita will give you a link to your Snuffed Candle Tracking Thread in this post: Links to individual tracking. But she only gives you that link once you post your first read book and snuffed candle to your tracking.

That's basically it. What I did so I don't have to keep going to the main thread to see what the candles are, I copied the list to my personal tracking under Member Tracking. Here's a link Theresa's Member Tracking. I make notes to myself there all the time for all different reasons - as you can see - like all the challenges I am doing, possible books to read for different ones, itc. I track everything here for any and all challenges I am doing even if not on GR, like my IRL Feminedy Book Club. Others keep spreadsheets and handwritten lists - *shudder* - last thing I need in my life. I like having it all here. Feel free to wander through my posts and you can see what I mean.

As I recall you aren't all that comfortable with HTML etc. Just take it a step at a time. I had no clue about HTML prior to PBT. I just use that little (some html is ok) tab above comments and learned it one at a time. Posting images still gives me problems ... ditto posting links to websites and such (which you don't need to do unless you really want to). But the rest is now automatic.

I really hope this helps. Let me know if I can help further. I'm also willing to set up a zoom with you to walk you through it. Oh, one more thing: When you copy over the list of Birthday Candles, you will lose all the links Anita created in them. You will have to go back to the original list to use them. One thing you can do is copy paste this into your personal tracking and it will take you to Anita's original post every time: Birthday Candles
