Rather reading from someone’s POV, it feels like you're reading documents of what is happening. Whether that be journal entries, files of cases they found, script of the raw footage they recorded, etc. It actually showed a lot more than I thought it would. I was expecting to only get dialogues, paperwork on past studies, and internal thoughts with no explanation to the setting. I was pleasantly surprised when I could get a whole picture of what was going on at the time and it was a really creative way of doing so.
Claire’s character in particular was one I enjoyed a lot. I liked reading her theories, how she debunks everything, and her explanation of ghosts in a scientific way. I think that’s what got me hooked on the book because I am a person of science and really appreciated this book was more than just “We’re looking for a ghost,” then “Ahh something moved, it was a ghost!”
Overall the book was entertaining with multiple plot lines going on and I’ll be honest, I liked it more than I thought I would.
