Avonlea Gal | 10 comments I’m so happy this book got chosen! I already listened to it and it felt long winded but then i watched the movie and I felt like reading it again. I wish I had a physical copy but I will be using an ebook. Have any of you watched the 2005 movie? What did you think?

message 4: by Dani (new)

Dani I’m actually one of the weirdos that has never read it lol, I am waiting to watch the movie until after 😍.

Excited to finally dive in. I was always worried it just wouldn’t be my cup of tea!

Dani And ZOMBIES?! Okay I’m going to have to watch that sue, LOL

Sue Miz (suereads2030) I am watching it now
I don't know why I love this movie
it uses a lot of lines from the book
more than the 2005 film

Avonlea Gal | 10 comments @Sarah, personally I loved it! I didn’t think there was that much difference between the book and the movie if that kind of thing bothers you. 😂 and I also love period dramas so that helps. It’s one of my favorite movies tbh.

Avonlea Gal | 10 comments @Dani lol I only listened to the audiobook a few months ago. When I listened to it I felt like I missed a lot, but nothing really surprised me in the movie. 😂 I’m excited to read the (e)book now!

Alexia Muelle-Rushbrook | 2 comments Lol, the Colin Firth version will always be my favourite, but Sue Miz, I share your love of the zombie version! I went into expecting to hate it with a passion, but instead came away grinning! I've read the novel so many times. As one of the first books to instil my love of reading as a teen, it will always be my happy place - closely followed by Jane Eyre.

Saga! The Warrior of Plants and Nature! Never read the book. Hope it's good.

Sue Miz (suereads2030) just keep in mind
it's a classic
and the formation of sentences is a bit sophisticated
you would have to reread certain parts
but also mind that this book is the original "enemies to lovers" trope

Saga! The Warrior of Plants and Nature! Yeah reading the first five chapters, I could definitely see that it was very sophisticated and I ended up reading it out loud!! lol :) Also which chapters are we reading today?

Avonlea Gal | 10 comments I just got a message that we need to read til chapter 10 :)

𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑎🪽 i thought we shouldn’t read chapter 5 😭 like when sb says read til chapter 5 i understand that we should read the first 4 chapters and stop at 5 💀

message 18: by R (new) - rated it 5 stars

R | 3 comments I’ve never read the book before but I am enjoying it so much!

Avonlea Gal | 10 comments how’s everyone doing so far? :D

Lana ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ I love the aesthetic of reading a classic in nature whilst listening to music. Jane Austen is a great writer as well.
