Louisiana Ladies Book Club discussion

Starting a thread to discuss February's book, Room by Emma Donoghue.

Just finished it. The beginning was very hard to get past, but flew through the later sections. Was anyone else completely irritated by the grandma’s reactions and interactions with her own daughter? She’s spent 7 years being traumatized daily and her mom is going to criticize her choice to continue to breastfeed? Seriously?!?

I think the non character was intended to lack self awareness and empathy to an extent. It was an interesting book, but the concept was difficult to read for sure.
