I'm probably in the minority here, but I found the stories surrounding the Nihil much more interesting than those of the Jedi and Republic. Lourna Dee and Kassav felt like the stronger characters while Marchion Ro was a decent "bad guy". Meanwhile there were so many Jedi introduced that I lost track of who was who more than once. I guess since I read Tempest Runner I was already biased toward Lourna Dee, but I just enjoyed the "bad guy" story better... which is funnyk because I've never been one of those people who prefer the villains.
The Nihil saved the story for me after the confusion of the of the 3 parts. I had began this book around 4 different times over the last 2 years and stopped to read something else. By the time I picked it up again this year I'm lucky I had already read some of the comics and other The High Republic books so I wasn't totally lost.
Again, this may just be my view and not shared by most (if any). Did anyone else find the Nihil better written due to there being fewer of them and the storylines feeling more connected?

I understand what you mean! I personally didn't care that much for the Nihil and their story except for the fact that it felt like it was the most coherent part of the book with the confusion surrounding the main initial conflict.
This book felt like it was trying to create a large interconnected world when it just created a large world of many small disjointed stories.

Exactly. It got confusing with the jumping around and I'd forget some characters by the time the story finally returned to them.
