I was just expressing some little astonishment at the outlandishness of her life story. Have you ever seen the like? Isn't it a scream?

I read it twice to make sure I got it right. "Outlandish" certainly
says it all. Like out of a movie.

If someone had made that up and put it in a book I might have said that's too full of stereotypes to be anywhere near plausible and therefore just too fabricated to be interesting. But as historical fact it's a real head shaker.
