City of the Snake RP discussion

A huge public library. It has three floors, and sections split up into areas based on genre. In the center there’s a spiral staircase that leads to a desk at the center of the bottom floor. There’s always a librarian at the desk, ready to help you in whatever way you need. The library is always open to anyone, as long as you’re interested in the knowledge held inside. As long as you do not harm the books, no one will be turned away.

John B. was looking around the library because he was mostly read in his spar time at the academy, he hated when people went there just to 'Hang Out' "It's a library people, not your hang-out spot" he quietly whispered as he saw a book on horror and ghost. he was one to believe in ghosts because of how his father might be alive but now he is having his doubts.

Seth was crouching beside a nearby shelf, running his fingers over the spines of the books there. He heard the other male's whispered comment, and looked up. Spotting him, Seth tilted his head, tucking his wings in tight behind them. They twitched slightly, betraying his curiosity. After looking around for a moment, he spoke up. "Who are you talking to?"

John B. looked at Seth, "Oh, no one, why?" he asked as he had a stack of books next to him as he was done with the book he was reading that morning.

Seth shrugged. "Nothing, I guess. It's just that, in my experience, when people express themselves verbally, they want to be heard." He looked back at the selection in front of him, then pulled a book on anatomy. He grinned crookedly. This would make the fight he was planning on writing much more realistic, much more believable. He glanced up at the other male once more, then frowned. "I don't believe we've run into each other before.. My name is Seth." He shifted uncomfortably, avoiding eye contact. He hadn't been able to make many friends yet, and he wanted to- but he also hadn't had much practice with conversation.

He looked at him, "Name's John B." he says as he shook Seth's hand and smiled at him. "You're a shy guy aren't you?" he asked as he already knew the answer to that already.

Seth frowned. "I suppose so." Shaking his head, he stood, and met John B.'s eyes for the first time. He smiled slightly, exposing the tips of slightly pointed teeth. "You don't seem to be." He observed, folding his hands formally behind his back. He knew it was polite to offer to shake hands, but he had a serious mental barrier around physical contact. As he had already climbed one of his walls by initiating this conversation, he figured he had done quite enough for the moment. He could simply enjoy the conversation, and maybe push himself further once they had talked for a bit.

John B. nods and slightly frowned as he had no idea on how to continue a conversation after the introductions. He usually stopped after that and went back to his books but, a lot of people thought of him as outgoing. He used to be until his father 'died' and now he was searching to where he could be.

Seth tilted his head once more, his glassy eyes flashing in the dim light as he studied John B. "Where'd you go?" He whispered, running a hand through his hair. "In your mind. What were you thinking about that put that expression on your face?" He blinked a couple of times, then shook his head. "That is, if I may ask."

((Do we want to move to the Gardens? Maybe they could chat a tad more here, then decide to get some fresh air? [That's where we could meet up with Faye]))

((Or, if you want to do a solo roleplay with Faye, I can excuse myself and have my character go do something else. I know you two have a more concrete relationship planned.))

((No you two were roleplaying first I can just save my character for a diff roleplay))

((It's been almost three weeks now since the last actual roleplay post was made, so I'm going to pull my character. That way we can both use our characters if we'd like, and they won't be tied up here.))

Seth waited a moment for a reply to his question, then when there was none, he quickly concluded his business in the library, and left, with a slight smile and a wave to the librarian at the desk at the foot of the stairs.
