Gem | 20 comments I guess I'm jaded, being a mother and now, grandmother. I think this book, if read to young children would encourage what most parents battle... getting the child to stay in bed. My second child was a horrible sleeper and this battle was real. If I had read this book to her, she would have used those excuses to get up and down.

While I do like the parent's explanations, I don't like the "I want a drink," "can I have cake," and the up and down and up and down for so many different reasons.

Admittedly, I'm probably reading too much into this.
