Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments I think he thought she would be better off out of the line of fire. But in the back of his mind, he knew he had to be the one to protect her.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I agree with you both. Evan saw the potential that Joey would be in danger either way. If he kept her close, Joey's chances of survival are greater with Evan. Besides she is good and will help with his mission.
