Play Book Tag discussion

I’m not sure why this was on my TBR originally, as it is not the type of book I am normally interested in. The book is a memoir of Lee’s childhood in a remote village in the Cotswolds just after WW1 and his mother’s struggles to raise her family. Some of the descriptions of nature and the countryside were nice and the writing was ok, I was just not very engaged with it. There were bits in it that I struggled to either believe, or if they were true, showed that when Lee was a child, neither he nor his friends had any kind of morals or any kind of shame or guilt, as shown by Lee’s description of how he and his friends planned and tried, but thankfully failed to rape one of their classmates. As an adult, Lee then tried to romanticise these actions and pass them off with the idea that boys will be boys and that things were different back then. I am happy to have this one off my TBR!
