Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Ryan dropped the bags to fish the room key out of his pocket, unlocking the door to the twins' room. Grabbing the bags once more, he swung the door open and led the way in, unceremoniously dumping their bags not far from the door. He gestured to the small room, smaller than most diplomat rooms, and the two matching beds. There were technically only diplomat rooms for the other countries, and since Ireland no longer existed, this room hadn't been a diplomat room. Upon hearing that the twin honorary princesses from the old country were coming as well, the Dowager Queen had one of the extra rooms done up for them. Even so, it was an impressively decorated room, and even Ryan looked a bit jealous. "Here you go, your bedroom." He deadpanned, glancing between the twins to see what crazy thing they did next. "Is it okay? I've been ordered to report to my superior if it isn't to your liking." Oh how he hated being a footman. He was a guard! Why was he being punished? And he got twins, not just one snotty diplomat, but two rambunctious redheads. Lovely. He didn't truly mind, it was just a pain in the neck.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Callum and Cassidy ran through the palace in a storm of giggles and wide eyes. They made wrong turns all the time, but there was always a call from behind them from their very grumpy guard, telling them to take a different turn or a different hallway. Finally he called for them to stop in front of a certain door, and Callum waited by the front of it while Ryan opened it for them. She stepped inside and dropped Cass' hand when she spotted the bed covered in satin. "Ooooooo" she said, jumping into the bed and feeling the satin against her hands; it was so smooth, she loved it. "It's perfect Ryan!! We love it!!!" Callum said in a cheery tone of voice. She looked over at him standing in the doorway with their bags "What's wrong, Ryan? Why are you so grumpy? I mean come on, this is great! Of all the people you have to guard, you got ME AND CASS, and we're the best!" She chirped, she smile actually bright as she looked at him, hoping to get him to perk up.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments (SO never saw this, sorry guys)

Cass ran down the halls with her sister, their laughter echoed off the walls as they went, getting strange looks indeed by some people. But Cass didn't care, nor did Cal, they got yelled at a few times by Ryan, when he told them which way to go because they were headed the wrong direction. Finally they ended up in front of a door, and they waited as Ryan opened the door and showed them in, it was a beautiful room with twin beds, satin coverlets, beautiful décor, it was just right for them, she went to test out the other bed. "Cal's right ya know? You have us and should be very excited indeed," She winked at the guard and leaned back on the pillows as she looked up at the ceiling and relaxed some.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) ((I kept meaning to mention it to you but I've been so busy.)) Ryan actually did smile at that, although mockingly towards Cal. "I'm not grumpy. You two are just a lot of work I don't need." He shook his head. "Anyway, the royals are having a dinner with the selected tonight and diplomats are mandatory to attend. I'll leave you two to get dressed up, and... Well, see you around." He couldn't attend the dinner unless he was on a date with an invited diplomat. Not that he liked the idea of putting on a monkey suit and attending, but suddenly he could imagine himself in a suit, with Callum on his arm in a gown- wait, what? Tutting to himself, he shook his head. "Anyway, anything else you need?"

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Callum laughed softly "Awww Cass look at his smile, he loves us already!!" She chirped with a grin, silly grin as she looked up at Ryan. She felt like giggling again when he mentioned getting dressed up; Cal didn't really ever get too dressed up, she was more into very casual dresses, comfy things that she wouldn't want to run away from after one hour. "I'm not getting that dressed up, and neither is Cass. But hey! You're not getting off the hook!" She said in an excited tone, jumping up from her place and crossing her arms "Cass, doesn't our guard have to escort us to dinner??" She asked her sister, sliding her eyes over to her absolute best friend "Otherwise we won't have our entertainment?" She said in an unsure voice. Callum walked to her suitcase, thinking that her word was final. She hoisted it up onto the bed and started to unzip it, getting ready to rifle through her clothes for a jersey dress.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cass rose a brow when Ryan said they had to get dressed up and go to dinner, and then apparently he was leaving them. But Cal soon rectified that and Cass giggled some, "Of course. He's our knight in shining armor," She winked at Ryan quickly before jumping off her bed and getting her own bag and unzipping it so that she could look in it for a simple blue dress, it was cotton with some flowers towards the bottom, nothing too fancy because, well a dress in general was a pain really. "Ryaaaaaaaaaan," She sang and looked up at him, "You have to go with us, please?" She widened her eyes and pouted her lip just a little, "Plus think about it? You would be the most envied guy there, two girls on your arms? Yeah you'll be the guy everyone wants to be, trust me." She gave him her best grin and then went to change behind the dressing screen that discreetly in the corner of the room.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Ryan averted his gaze as they went behind the dressing screen, even going so far as to turn around. "You're kidding, right? I'm a guard, I'm supposed to be security at these kinds of things, not a guest. Besides, I don't know if that is allowed..." However, he was tempted to go. He actually, unbelievably, liked hanging out with the twins. Looking down at himself, he was only wearing jeans and a button down white shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, along with boots. Then again, he wasn't a stickler for rules. "You know what? Screw it, I'm in. But don't expect me to talk to the other diplomats, I'm going for the food."

Callum followed Cassidy behind the changing screen; they could both fit behind it anyway. She shucked off her jeans and tee and pulled on a black, tight cotton dress over a pair of sheer black tights. She she walked out from behind the screen fairly quickly, leaving the dirty clothes there to pickup later, or not, she didn't really care much for cleanliness. "Screw rules, you have to come! That's an order." Se declared as she walked back to her suitcase, pulling her hair out of its ponytail and shaking it out some, so it would fall more naturally. By the time she pulled on her long, black cardigan though, Ryan was already agreeing. "Good! Just wait one second and we'll be ready, we can wait outside your room while you get into something a little less ragamuffin." She looked at him and winked, bending her legs so she could put on a pair of heeled boot sort of things; the only thing that indicated something even a little fancy.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cass looked at Cal with a grin once they had their dresses on, "He's so going with us," She whispered just before her sister slipped out to get her boots on, Cass went as well and slipped on a pair of her own boots. She watched the two of them, it seemed that there was definite chemistry there, and really she was waiting to see how it all played out. Cass hid a smirk as she tugged on her boots and made sure that she was fully ready, she grabbed a bag and shoved some random things in it, as well as lip gloss, then looked over at her sister dearest, "Ready Cal? We need to get our boy spruced up and presentable to be escorting two Irish princes," She winked at Ryan and went towards the door, clearly ready to go out and get the party started.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) "What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" He argued, even though he knew he did indeed have to change. Turning to look at them finally, he went still when he saw the two of them, though his eyes were more on Cal than Cass. "You look... pleasant." He commented stiffly, almost awkwardly. Surely he couldn't admit she was beautiful, so he went with pleasant instead. Frowning at the suggestion to go to his room, he slowly said, "I don't know... I mean my room is boring, you don't want to see my room..." He said, knowing his room was small and unimpressive. ((They should drag him out. XD))

message 12: by ᵉˡˡᵃ (new)

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Callum rolled her eyes "Oh hush, you know exactly what's wrong with what you're wearing. Get on a suit for us." She complained right back at him, zipping up her suitcase and placing it at the foot of the bed; she could unpack later, she had more important things to do just then. Cal quirked a brow and looked from Cassidy to Ryan, her arms crossed over her chest in a pouting way "Well, you promised us we could see Nigel. So unless you're a liar... I mean I guess we just assumed you were a man of your word?" She posed her statement in a question, and grinned twistedly when he seemed to not know what to say "Come on, pretty boy." She said in teasing tone, grabbing onto one of his arms and motioning For Cass to grab the other. It took some effort, but eventually the girls were able to drag the guard out of the room, "I have no clue where I'm going..." Call mumbled to her sister, and just took a random turn out of their bedroom door.

message 13: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cass finished with everything and mimicked her sister in putting her bag at the end of her bed and then joined her, "Of course, lets gets this show on the road, pretty boy needs pretty clothes to go along with his pretty face," Cass took the other arm and pushed/pulled Ryan out of their room, she managed to get their room door closed just before going with Cal out into the hallway and turning in an unknown direction, she glanced up at Ryan, "Unless you want to make us more late than we already are I suggest directions Knight," She told him in a sweet tone, not wanting to irritate him too much, he did have to tell them which way to go after all, and she wasn't keen on walking into the royal quarters, that would certainly land them in all sorts of trouble , since they werent' invited, of course she and Cal could get themselves out of it, but could Ryan?

message 14: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Her sister seemed to be recovering, some, but Cass still had plans of at least writing a letter home to her brother-in-law if nothing else, Cedric would take care of this if she asked him to. It was nice having another male in the family besides her father, because she knew that Cedric would have a level head about it while her dad would just freak out and probably have Ryan beheaded, not the best reaction. She sighed and looked into Cal's eyes, she seemed to really want to stay so Cass did her best to smile a little for her.

"Okay we can stay, but I swear I'm going to kick him in the you know whats the next time I see him Cal, he is such a jerk," She then took her sisters hand and began walking down the hall again, apparently they were going to just move on from this and enjoy themselves like originally planned. It was going to be hard for Cass, but she would try her best for her twin, obviously acting as if nothing happened was important to her. "I wonder what they have planned around here today..." Cass was never one to just sit around and do nothing, "Maybe we can get washed up and changed, then go do something, perhaps a picnic? Or a swim? A walk or a horseback ride?" She was mostly talking to keep her and Cal distracted from the recent events, and to fill the silence, silence was a bit horrifying to Cass unless she was reading a book, then one needed silence.

message 15: by ᵉˡˡᵃ (new)

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Callum let out a loud breath when Cassidy finally agreed that they were going to stay. Because if she actually had wanted to leave, Callum would've just gone with her, leave with her sister; surely not stay there without her, that would be dreadful. Life without Cass was worse than anything she could think of. Cal shook the thought away, though, but just leaned against her sister more as they walked. Her face was still stained with tears, but Cass was talking, and that calmed Callum down. Just having Cassidy ramble on about anything, just the sound of her voice was helpful to her. "Casssss no violent tendencies. Just let it all go, I doubt we'll even see him again..." She said, the idea of it nagging at her brain. She was terrified, yeah, but did that mean she never wanted to see Ryan again? She'd felt such a pull to him the night before that she wasn't sure if she could stay away. She'd seen the remorse in his eyes from across the room, and Cal wasn't one to leave stones unturned. Why had he done it? Did he mean to scare them? She didn't think so, and it was hard to think about never seeing his half smirk or smelling his bad cologne again. Call was dragged from her thoughts by Cass and she nodded "Yeah, yeah we can go back to our room and take nice showers and then maybe see what the royals have planned? If it's nothing interesting we can take a couple horses and explore. Find some trees to climb, the works." She said with a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood.

Kol had already helped King Aric get ready that morning, and reorganized all of the older mans socks, by color according to the rainbow. It was more pleasing to the eye that way; and well, the king had a disturbing amount of sock variety, at least in the color department he did. Kol was tragically bored with his day already. He didn't want to go down to the drawing room, since the Selected would be there. That many women at one time? Sure they were nice but there were far too many of them. So Kol was just alone with his thoughts, walking slowly through the halls of the palace with his nose in a book. He's mastered the art of walking and reading years ago, so he didn't run into anyone, but he wondered. He wondered why the king wanted him to go shooting with he and his sons. It was kind, but Kol couldn't help but wonder why he would want him to tag along, he was just a footman. Kol slowed down when he heard the sounds of girls voices, thinking they might be selected, needing help to find their way. He lowered his book and glanced at the page number before closing it softly and smiling at the two redheads he saw in the lane. Their freckles were uncountable, and one of them had love curly hair and pretty eyes. The other was beautiful as well, with more wave to her hair and...tears? There were tears falling down her cheeks, and Kol instantly looked concerned upon seeing them "Are you two alright?" He asked and walked up to them, bowing just slightly before continuing on "My name is Kol, I'm the Kings footman, if you need any help Id be glad to assist you." He said in a formal way, his blue eyes holding worry for them.

(Omg Kol and the socks, dying)

Cassidy liked the thought of that, it made it to where they weren't really tied down to just one plan. If they liked what the royals had planned they would go with them, if not well they'd do their own thing, Cassidy was a free spirit and it made her anxious when she HAD to do something, was tied to it, she had a few commitment issues for sure. "Okay, but I get first horse pick," She teased, only joking, she would of course let Cal pick first since she'd had rather a rough morning. Things had definitely not gone the way they'd planned them, and as Cassidy was calming down she wondered if Ryan regretted his actions at all, it didn't seem like it, but she could be wrong. A young man came upon the twins and he looked at them, asking if they were alright, Cass blinked a few moments, taking him in. Blonde hair, blue eyes, full lips, a smooth jaw, tall, kind of a rakish look to him. "Hullo love," She said with a smile, a genuine one, "Um we're quite lost I'm afraid. I'm Cassidy, or Cass if you prefer, and this is my twin, Callum, we're representatives of Ireland. Not sure if you could help with that Kol?" Lashes were batted, and Cass made sure to look as innocent as possibly, hoping that Cal would play along.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments ((I just see Aric as a sock lovin guy))
Callum rolled her eyes at Cassidy "You wish." She teased about the horses, knowing that her sister would give her first pick. The poor thing thought she was going to die ten minutes ago, Cal was pretty sure she could do anything that she wanted that day and Cassidy would just smile and pat her on he back for it. Her smile returned though, and it was real, because Cass seemed to be okay now, and Cal already was okay. She could leve her head pretty quickly when she wanted to. Her eyes sparked when she saw a fairly cute guy come up to them and ask if they needed help. He wasn't as good looking as Ryan, not by far, but Cass seemed to be into him, so Callum would play along with what her sister needed. She let a sweet smile slip into her lips and nodded with Cass "Oh yes we could use some help, we spent the night in a strange guards room and can't seem to find out room now." She said, trying to shock the man. Ryan wasn't strange, just mysterious, and hose were two different things. Callum bit down on her tongue and tried not to think about Ryan anymore, and instead focused on making sure Cass got to have her fun with this footman.

Kol was more than a little bit surprised when the girls went from looking a litter bit troubled to absolutely smitten. He didn't exactly realize that Cass was flirting, since he wasn't skilled in the art himself. He usually didn't notice any girls were interested in him, though they definitely were, with his appearance and sweet demeanor. Irish diplomats? Well that made sense, the amount of freckles on the two girls was astounding to Kol, and the curly hair on Cassidy, well it was a bit mesmerizing. Her hair was such a dark red that her freckles seemed almost pale compared to it, and it was mystifying to say the least. But he couldn't say that, and instead tried to stay perfectly professional as he talked with the girls "Of course, I can help you dear, where is it you need to be?" He asked Cass, but then the other one, Callum, answered him and spoke about spending the night with a guard, or something like that. His cheeks flared pink and he had to clear his throat "Oh, well, yes, I'm sure I can help you find your rooms. Just follow me." He muttered, hastily turning around and starting to walk to the diplomats wing. These girls were already shocking him beyond belief.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cassidy gave her sister a look, she had not slept with a guard, and that's how she made it sound. Oh well, he was at least agreeing to go with them to their room, that would give her time to rectify the situation. "Okay my sister means we passed out in his room, he put us in his bed and," Cass hit herself in the head, "I mean, oh my gosh that sounds so bad. But HE SLEPT ON THE FLOOR I SWEAR IT," She finally got out, frustration, embarrassment, it all was put upon Cass, and cheeks were flaring by the time she was done stumbling over herself, and she was sure he sister was just finding all the amusement in the world over it because if the roles were reversed she knew she would be. With a sigh she spoke up once more, "Kol please forgive me, its just been a long night, a long morning, and I just need to take my clothes off," Cass was gonna leave it at that, but then realized how bad that sounded too, "And take a shower, I meant to add that," She practically sang, poor Cass was all befuddled by Kol and her sister was nowhere near helping the situation.

message 19: by ᵉˡˡᵃ (new)

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments If anything could've cheered up Callum that morning, it was her sister fumbling over her speech and embarrassing herself in front of a cute guy. It was just fun to see, because she and Cass were always so sure of themselves around men that it was a rare sight, and she knew Cassidy would be doing the same thing if the tables were turned. She just nodded along with everything that Cass said, "Mhm," she tagged her little things into each of her statement. Her smile was wide the whole time as she walked against Cassidy. She was making it sound even worse, and THEN she mentioned taking her clothes off and taking a shower, and Cal was trying to figure out if she was trying to clear up the situation... Callum would've just spent the whole time laughing, since it was perfectly laughable, but Cass really was struggling, so Callum sighed and grabbed Cass' hand, walking up next to Kol with her sister "Cass just means that we fell asleep in out guards room last night, we had dinner there and then he put us in his bed and slept on the floor by the door, it was all kosher. Now we just need showers and to know what the agenda is for today, right Cass?" She asked her sister, nudging her playfully to help her along.

Kol was surprised by even the idea of these two girls spending their night with a guard, they seemed much more respectable than that. Especially Cassidy, her cheeks were flaming as she tried to put the pieces together of what had happened the night before. His blush went away as he saw how the situation was all a jumble of some sort, she seemed so embarrassed but he just smiled at her, trying to calm her nerves some. Then the sister, Callum, piped in and cleared it all up. Kol looked down at Cassidy and smiled softly "Don't worry about it sweetheart, I'm sure you didn't do anything bad with the guard, you don't have to prove yourself to me." He said. Kol would've liked to clap his hand on her shoulder some to help her out, but that would be wrong, since she was a diplomat and he was the Kings footman, so he had to be more formal with them. "Of course you do, well your room is right down this hallway, so we're almost there." He added on, gesturing to the hallway in front of them.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cass felt like she had surely botched things with the footman, and wanted to go to her room so that she could slam her head into the wall a few times. That would definitely make up for all this idiocy she seemed to be having, then her sister spoke up. Instead of making amusing comments though, like Cass would've done, she put things together again for Cass, and made it all sensible or what not. Cass squeezed her twins hand to let her know she appreciated her kind words. Her heart skipped when Kol called her sweetheart, aw he was already calling her by a petname, how cute was that? "I don't know if I want to get to my room that fast if it means we're having to leave you so soon," She said boldly, some of old Cass coming back to the forefront, she honestly wanted to get to know the guy a bit better. Then she thought of the letter that she still had yet to write... hmmm ... maybe she would have to wait to get to know the handsome boy better.

message 21: by ᵉˡˡᵃ (new)

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Callum knew her sister would appreciate her cleaning up the little mess of words, and it wasn't a big deal to Cal. Her sister needed help, so help she did. Cass was her one and only best friend, and probably her only soulmate, so maybe she didn't need Ryan. But then again she didn't want to do unspeakable things to Cass in a bed, that was just Ryan. The footman was being especially sweet to Cass, and Cass was even flirting with him, so Cal was sure that they were dealing with business as usual, and once they reached the door to their bedroom, Callum went inside and grabbed some clothing from her suitcase, picking out a comfortable dress and a pair of shoes that she could explore the palace in. "Hey Cass I'm gonna hop in the shower. Thanks sweet cheeks!" She chirped to Kol, hoping to make his cheeks pink. Maybe her sister needed some alone time with the hunk, and Cal could oblige.

Kol wasn't exactly the brightest light when it came to social cues. Books, yeah, he was your guy for academic help, he was pretty smart fellow. But when it came to picking up flirting and things like that, Kol was still learning from the other footmen, especially Benny, who was nice enough to nudge Kol wen one of the maids was flirting with him, so he would know. He walked the girls down the hallway and to their room, opening the door to them and bowing as they went inside, he was assuming that would be it for him on that day. But then Cassidy mentioned him sticking around, and he smiled softly at her. Did he know she was flirting? Not at all. But he could tell when someone was being nice, so he shrugged in her direction. "I can stay if you want, Cassidy. I could show you down to the drawing room once you and your sister are done here, but only if you like." He smiled at her kindly, gosh that girl was pretty. With her freckled face and her plump lips, she was, what did Benny call it? Ah yes, enticing. She was enticing for sure.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Their footsteps echoed some down the hall as they went, and Cass appreciated the art on the walls, the décor in the hall, and the fine company she was with, honestly she could barely take her eyes off the footman Kol. He was gorgeous, and she kind of wanted to touch his face, but that would just be weird since they only just met. Once at their room Kol gallantly opened the door for them, Cass winked at him as she walked by him. Cal was talking about going to take a shower, Cass nodded, and watched her sister disappear, her head swiveled to Kol though when he mentioned perhaps staying to keep her company, a smile curled over lips and her eyes were bright. "Yes please! I would love your company," Cass grabbed his hand and led him to her bed, pretty much making him sit down. "I just have a letter to right real quick? Can you talk to me while I write? Tell me about yourself, do you like your job? Do you have a family? Are you single?" She wasn't going to hold back, she needed to know if she had a chance with this guy. Cass sat down at the small desk in the corner and put pen to paper to her brother-in-law, describing the situation with Ryan, not leaving out any details of how he practically threatened Cal, and made sure to put her own fears in as well as she waited to hear all about Kol from his own mouth.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments ((Sorry but I'm totally making Benny sound like the Jack to Kol's James))
Callum walked into the bathroom and closed the door, letting her back press against it for a moment. She had a lot swirling through her mind, but at the front was Ryan. She knew she shouldn't be thinking about him, since he'd just proven that he was probably half crazy, but it was hard, since they'd had such a connection the night before. Cal walked to the shower and turned on the hot water knob, hoping to make the bathroom steam up, she really needed to just dissolve in the heat for a little while, and she didn't need to worry about Cass; she was sure to have that hottie footman keep her company. Callum shucked her clothing and stepped into the burning hot water, simply standing in the stream of water as the drops consumed her skin, soaking her hair and lessening the headache that Cal had contacted over the last half an hour. She thought back to Ryan, wondering about the glassy look in his eyes. It hadn't looked like him at all, and she was sure that he would have a reason, if she just had time to talk to him about it. But it was too soon then, she needed more time.

Kol was surprised at Cassidy when she winked his way as he held the door for them. She was winking...at him? It was of course a welcome surprise, but Kol wasn't one to really flirt, so he just let a wide grin spread across his face. Sure he might not be able to act on it, but it was nice to know the gorgeous irish girl was interested in him. Then she was leading him to her bed and Kol sat down without complaint "Of course," he answered when she asked him to talk to her while she wrote. He didn't know much of what to say, so he just took each question in stride "I do like this job, I was just given it recently. My father used to be King Aric's footman, but when he passed, the King offered to give me the job, and he's a magnificent man. Very kind and straightforward. He doesn't mess around, but he isn't the type to chop off someone's head for mismatching his tie and his shoes, either. He's a fair guy." Kol told her honestly. His eyes skimmed over her back while she sat at the desk. He wondered what it would be like to wrap his fingers in her curls, but quickly banished the thoughts, since he felt his cheeks heating up. "I have one younger brother, but both of our parents have passed, so it's just us." Kol didn't think of that as a big deal anymore. He was speechless for a moment after her next question. "Am I...single?" He sputtered out, twiddling his thumbs uncomfortably while he tried to think of why she would want to know such a thing "Well...I'm not tied to any young lady at the moment, no." He said, his voice obviously confused in tone, but he would answer her, of course, as any gentleman would.

(I feel so bad for poor Callum)

Her writing stopped for a moment as she listened to Kol speak about his job and how much he liked it, the King of Illea seemed to be a fair enough guy from what the footman said. Her pen picked up again for a few minutes, she took her time to ask about her sisters and mother, and then specifically asked Cedric not to talk to her father about any of it, because he would just go overboard. That wouldn't be good, he'd go all Irish on poor Ryan, even though Ryan needed no sympathy right then, but Cass knew her sister still kind of had feelings for the moron. She had intuition and she and Cal had a weird bond so... Finally Cass signed the bottom of the page in her loopy handwriting, folded the piece of paper up, put it in the envelope, pulled her ring off her finger and sealed the envelope with the Royal Irish crest. "Okay," Swiveling in the chair she turned to Kol, "I'm all yours. I'm sorry about your parents, that's so sad, really. I wish that hadn't happened, my whole family is everything to me, I couldn't imagine living without any of them," Maybe that sounded naïve, but it was true. "SINGLE," She chirped happily and flounced over onto the bed to sit thigh to thigh with him, "Okay so I was thinking we could so do something later? I mean if you want to, you might as well know that I'm interested and I'll be chasing after you. Its not technically stalking as long as you are okay with it?" She grinned girlishly up at Kol, making sure to bat her eyes some.

Kol watched as Cassudy scrawled her own against a piece of thick paper. The letter she was writing must have been important, because when she lifted her head to think, he could see the serious pit in her pupils. She stuck her ring against the wax and then she was turning towards him in a flurry of red hair. She was mentioning his parents and apologizing, but Kol was really very okay "Oh don't worry about it, Love. I have my brother, so I'm not alone. You know wonderful siblings are." He said with a smile angling in her direction. Kol thought she might smile back and keep swirling in her chair; his smile was half because of that, really, that silly look in her eyes while she spun herself round and round in the thing. But all of a sudden she was beside him on the bed and they were sharing personal space. Kol quirked a brow, her sweet scent filling his senses while she talked; about being interested in him, and wanting him to go take her out that night. His blue eyes widened, why in hell would she want to go out with him? He was just a footman. Kol rubbed the back of his neck and looked at Cassidy in a confused manner "Well Cassidy, surely you know that you're a beautiful bright girl, and of course it's very flattering, but I believe you can do much better than a footman, being a diplomat." He told her in an earnest tone. He truly did believe the words that he said.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments The sounds of the shower could barely be heard in the room and Cass had a thought while she awaited Kol's reply, If Callum uses up all the hot water I'm cutting her hair off tonight, the thought was such a simple one to Cass, but to others it might have been slightly terrifying. She rose a red brow when Kol thought he could tell her she could do better than him. This did not sit well with the princess, and she folded her arms over her chest, her chin looked a little defiant as she replied to the footman, "I not only am a diplomat but I'm a princess as well. Kol I know what I want when I want, and I can tell you right now that I want to be around you. To get to know you better, so like it or not I will either tag along after you bombarding you with questions, making you laugh, and playing with your gorgeous hair, or I'll be nagging all of your friends, and your brother, about you and probably annoying people and rising suspicions as to whether we've slept together already or not." Her arms had slowly eased away from her chest and her hands had found their way to set upon Kols, her eyes were earnest as she got slightly closer, making sure that he felt how much she was attracted to him. Boundaries weren't exactly Cassidy's forte, and her sister could vouch for that.

Kol looked down at Cassidy when she seemed very grumpy with his words. She crossed her arms and started to speak, Kol's face went pale; she was a princess?? She hadn't mentioned that, and honestly it made him even more confused as to why she would be interested in his company so much "I-I'm sorry princess Cassidy." He said, seeming very much the chastised man instead of a boy his own age. Kol was serious about u basically everything, and he saw Cassidy as a beautiful young lady that could have any man she wanted. He wasn't trying to be coy or play hard to get, he just wanted to make sure she knew that. But she was giving him options soon enough and Kol's eyes widened. So he either made friends with her, or she would be obnoxious to his friends?? He tried to rationalize it, but it felt very much like he was doing something wrong when he found himself nodding to her. "Alright Princess I'll take the first option, but please don't muss my hair too much..." He said, patting his platinum blonde hair gently.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments The thought of torturing Kol's friends actually made her want to smile, but she soon pushed that thought aside, because it wouldn't make Kol happy, and thus she would not be happy either. Their closeness was a bit overwhelming for poor Cass, he smelled soooo good, and his lips looked enticing, warmth spread to her cheeks as she thought about the things he could do with those lips... to her. Cass blinked, trying to concentrate on the words coming from Kol's mouth, he was agreeing or something, and then something about his hair, damn this boy had everything to make a girl like Cass loose some of her game, whether that was a bad or good thing, well that was yet to be seen. "Mhmm, hair, won't touch it too much," She told him distractedly, Cass forced herself to edge back, just a smidge, so that she didn't just jump this poor guy that seemed to be at a loss around her. "So... what were your plans today??" She questioned, wondering to if maybe she could just follow him around like a lost puppy. Cal was bound to want to do something too, but would it be bad to want to follow a boy around instead? She knew Cal would've done that if Ryan hadn't been an ass, she totally would've abandoned her twin to follow flirty guy around.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Kol was a little bit amused by how distracted Cassidy seemed to be. He wasn't sure what she was thinking on, but he was fairly sure that he didn't want to know, either. She was muttering about not touching his hair too much with her cheeks just a little pink. Kol was sort of confused, though. How did he go about courting a princess? She seemed to want him to court her, or something like that, but being a footman, and having very little experience with women, he wasn't sure what to do. Should he ask the king for his permission?? That sounded about right to him, and since Cassidy was easily adorable and cute, he was willing to go out in a limb and ask. She wondered aloud about his plans for the day, and he just shrugged and grinned down at her. He was glad that she'd been direct about liking him, since if she hadn't, Kol definitely wouldn't have noticed. "Actually I don't have any plans. Later on the king will need to change for dinner and then for bed, but until then I don't have any tasks. I could take you for a grand tour if you want, maybe get you something for breakfast?" He asked, thinking that she probably hadn't eaten yet.

message 30: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments He had no plans, zilch, zero, she could have him all to herself until the King had need of him, she felt like clapping with glee, but withheld herself. "Okay let me grab a shower? And then we can be on our way?" She stood, Cass bent over and opened up her suitcase so she could rummage through her things, needing to find just the right outfit for such a day. Should she wear something girly for once? Or something manageable in case she talked Kol into climbing trees with her? Hmm, decisions, decisions... well maybe she could come back later and change into a nicer outfit if she needed to, but for right then she picked out a light blue bra with lacy edging, she threw it behind her, it landed in Kol's lap, then a pair of matching panties, a tank top, shirt, and jeans, all landing in Kol's lap, not on purpose of course. The panties had landed in his hand actually and when Cass stood, turned and looked at him she just grinned, "So you approve of my lingerie I see?" She asked him, eyeing the panties in his hand, she folded her arms over her chest and looked at him with a semi-serious face, honestly she was just teasing him.(view spoiler)

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Kol felt himself wanting to grin when Cassidy smiled. She had an absolutely gorgeous smile; it light up her whole face with an almost childish sense of being giddy. She was just so pretty, Kol tried to push those thoughts away. She obviously liked him, yes, but that just meant he had to be the responsible one, the one that made sure she didn't do anything that she would regret. "Of course, I can wait in the hall of you'd like." He said in a kind tone, trying to be considerate. He didn't want to barge in on Cassidy's space, but she didn't seem to mind him being there, either. Kol's eyes followed Cassidy as she went over to her suitcase and started to pull things out; but once he realized that she had a very lacy bra in her hands, Kol quickly looked away. But since he had awful luck, the bra landed in his lap, and his mind wandered off to what Cassidy would look like in such a garment, with her mischievous eyes and tricky grin. Then the panties landed right in the palms of his hands, and his thoughts only worsened, his cheeks blazing red by the time she looked over at him and started to question him. Kol let out a grunt and pushed the items onto the bed beside him, trying to seem innocent in the act, even though the thoughts of Cassidy still lingered in the back of his brain. He cleared his throat and avoided her eyes "Uhm, well, I'm sure you'd look beautiful in anything, but it's not exactly my area of expertise." He told her, trying to sound formal about it, but really, he just needed an excuse to picture her in her underwear.

message 32: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cassidy looked at Kol with amusement and warmth as he shoved her clothes to the side, they were now on the bed, and he was looking slightly bashful but something g else as well. Cass decided he either was playing innocent and had some especially hot thoughts of her in the lingerie, or he should go join a monastery and become a monk because he wasn't built for the outside world. She liked to think the first one, "Oh I look especially cute in these Kol," She told him as she swiped her panties off the bed, she then gathered the rest of the items and went behind the changing screen. It only took minutes but she was soon out from behind it and placed her dirty laundry in a pile nearby before standing beside Kol and peering uo with wide eyes, "Did you peek while I was changing??!" She made it sound like she might be offended, but then she grinned impishly, "And If you did peek did you like what you see?" With that she grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the door with her.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Kol was extremely embarrassed; he was always the one that could control dangerous thoughts like those, especially when it came to palace guests. But this girl was different, and he felt the urge to run away from her to go get advice from Benny. Because really, he was already in way over his head. He made a coughing noise when Cassidy assured him that she looked good in those particular underwear "Of course you do..." He trailed off, peeking up at her and not being able to stop the smile that came to his face; just because she was so confident. And he had every right to be, se was drop dead gorgeous, but still. She dashed behind te changing screen and Kol paid very close attention to the wall in front of him. He didn't want to be disrespectful to Cass, and honestly, turning around and sneezing a peek at her hadn't even crossed his mind. What did cross him mind was what Benny would say. First he would probably slap Kol for being such a terrible flirt. A fantastic young woman was hitting on him blatantly, and he was barely reacting. What was wrong with him? Next he would offer a few pick up lines, but Kol hated those, they were too impersonal. So he just went with the first one, maybe he would flirt back. Yes, that could work. Cassidy came from behind the screen all dressed and looking wonderful in her jeans and tank top. He could see even make of her freckles, and lord there certainly were plenty of them. He frowned for a moment though, and made sure eye contact with her "Miss Cassidy, I would never disrespect a woman in any way, definitely not by trying to sneak looks at her." He said, wanting to show her how serious he was about that. Ladies were ladies, and they kept parts of their bodies hidden by their own choice, so he would never take their choice away from them. As an attempt at flirtation, Kol wrapped his fingers around hers and allowed her to drag him out of the room, letting out a laugh "And just where are we goinG, Princess?" He asked her, amusement dancing in his eyes.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Oh my, he really is like some knight in shining armor, isn't he? What have I gotten myself into? Cass thought as she stopped mid-step and turned to look at the footman that spoke so seriously about not peeking at her or disrespecting her. Never in her life had she met someone so sweet or sincere, well not a guy anyway, especially not one older. She was pausing because she was trying to figure out how to react to him, and let him know that she appreciated him, but still be flirty? Was that even possible? Hmmm, Cass gazed up at Kol, their hands linked, her eyes shining as well as she tried not to botch being polite and mannerable for once, "Thank you for your... respect? And um..." Cass blushed as she grasped for words that wouldn't make her feel stupid, or too flirty for such a serious moment, "Thinking of me, and not going with your hormones, but with your heart and gut instead. Yeah, there we go," The corners of her mouth lifted as she was proud of herself for being somewhat courtly and normal. Right? Maybe she had botched it... Cass wasn't sure, she really wasn't any good at this sort of thing. Mischief, mayhem, flirting, these were things she excelled at, but this boy was giving her a run for her money when it came to new situations and conversations. "Now, lets go find something fun to do Lancelot," She told him before tugging on his hand again, and actually expecting him to take her somewhere, since she knew where nothing was.

Ryan knew he had to get back to work. He should have gone on patrol, checked in with other guards, something important like that. Instead, he started walking and he didn't stop until he'd reached Cass and Cal's room. Slightly out of breath, he stopped at the door, running a hand through his already messed up blonde hair. I'm being an idiot. Callum wants to be with an idiot. He paced in front of the door for a moment before he steeled his nerves and knocked on it, a little harder than he intended to.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Cass had had a great afternoon with the boy that she'd just met recently, he was so sweet and cute. Way innocent, more so than she'd ever experienced, also he was a pure gentleman, also something she wasn't accustomed to. Cass was in the middle of changing when she heard the knock at the door, her eyebrows shot up, she wondered if it was Kol back to say something else, or to possibly offer a kiss? She grinned from ear to ear, she finished changing into a pair of cotton shorts and tank top, then swung the door wide. Her smile fell however when she noticed who was in front of the door, a slightly panting Ryan stood before her, and that didn't make for a happy Cass. "What the hell do you want?" She posed the question rather bluntly, her arms folded over her chest, her eyes were glaring up at him. To anyone else it might have seemed almost comical to see the young girl trying to stare the guard down.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Clearly Cassidy O'Calloghan didn't realize how terrifying she was. Any other man might have cowered, but Ryan merely gulped as Cass opened the door. He looked nervous, but he stood straight, gazing down at the younger, shorter girl. "Listen. You don't like me, I don't like you. But I'm dating your sister. I really, really like her, and I know your approval means the world to her. It means nothing to me, but she means everything to me... So for the sake of getting on your good side before you heard it from her that I've asked her out on a date... I just thought I'd let you know my intentions for Callum." He spoke calmly, though he seemed to grow slightly pale as he spoke, crossing his arms in a stance similar to her. If she stared him down, he was determined to stare back. With any hope, she wouldn't kill him.

Ryan wasn't certain what drove him to Cass. However, his words were true. He cared about Cal, and he knew if Cass didn't at least somewhat tolerate him, then Cal may not let their relationship last. No one could tell her what to do, of course, but he knew she'd take her twin's opinion to heart. Besides, if she didn't and they continued to date and Cass continued to hate him, it'd cause a rift between them. Ryan was certain Callum would die if that happened. So here he stood, telling Cass before anyone else could, and he didn't back down, even though inside he was terrified. Damn these girls. How can two tiny red heads be so freaking scary?

message 38: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments The fact that Ryan could look her in the eye as he spoke, well that earned him at least half a point on the small scale he was being weighed upon. Cass was biting the inside of her cheek, trying to make sure that she didn't say anything until he was done saying his fill first. His voice was smooth as he spoke, and he implied that he had good intentions towards Cal, but how could Cass trust him? She breathed in deeply, then let out her anger slowly, or tried to, her foot twitched some just before she replied, "Ryan.... You're not good for my twin, at least not from what I've seen so far. IF you want to date my sister, with my consent, then you're going to have to prove you're a good guy, not just to her, but to me as well. If you haven't noticed, my twin and I are extremely close, and there is no chance of you coming between us." Cass leaned in, going up on her tip toes, her eyes steely, "She would never choose a guy, or even a family member, over me. So don't hold your breath if you think that will ever happen." Cass went back to her position of before, "But," Her voice became slightly softer, "I'm willing to see how you do after this... I guess," Cass did her best to not look like she cared about the idiot in front of her, and she didn't, really, did she? What she cared about was her twin, the other half of herself, she couldn't stand it if something happened to Cal.

Ryan had been ready for anything. He'd been ready for Cass to kill him, hit him, yell at him. He'd even, by a long shot, been ready to have her accept that he was dating Cal. He didn't, however, expect this. A deadpanned expression on his face, he stared blankly at her. "You're... putting me through a test?!" He was clearly flabberghasted, opened mouthed as he stared. "You've got to be kidding me!" Scowling, he grumbled something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like "red haired little brat." However, he really did care about Callum. So, with a deep sigh, he looked back at Cass, "Fine. How do I prove to you that I'm somewhat decent enough to date your sister? And if you say I have to be your slave for a day and do whatever you say- forget about it. You can kiss my ass, and I'll still date Callum." Okay, so he wasn't doing great on the charm at the moment.

The hallway was silent for a moment, Cass leaned against the door jam with a relaxed expression, that is until Ryan burst out with words of shock, a sense of satisfaction swept through young Cass. She'd gotten a rise out of him, and that was expected, he was just showing her further that he was not right for her sister, that short temper, and anger, well it wouldn't match her twin, not in Cass' opinion anyhow. Without even realizing it Cass' hand came up, and she stood straight as she slapped Ryan across the cheek, her cheeks flamed as she glared his way even worse than before. "Kiss your ass? Red haired brat?" Drily laughing she looked intensely up at the guard, "I don't need your crap Ryan. I don't need you at all, the only reason I decided to be diplomatic about this was for Cal's sake, but to hell with it, I don't care. You're nothing but a selfish brute, that likes to talk down to women, I hope you fall in horse manure, and get stomped on," With that Cass prepared to retreat back in her room, her anger was at its top, and her cheeks were the same color as her hair right at that moment, she felt that she could strangle ten people, and still be mad.

For a few seconds after the slap, Ryan was silent. But then he exploded with as much anger as she had, "Me? Selfish?! Okay, listen you little entitled princess, I only came to you because I care about Callum! I don't care if you like me, hate me, whatever. The only reason I came to you at all is because I care about her! I don't want or need your permission, but she does! And I'll be damned if I don't get it just because you feel free to throw a hissy fit!" He was seething, sticking his shoe out to block her from closing the door. "So tell me what your stupid test is, and I'll do it. Go ahead, believe what you want, but I'm not leaving until you get this over with and test me. If pleasing your spoiled red tush is the only way to ensure that Callum gives our relationship a chance, then so be it." He was serious, glaring at her with a fierce determination. He wasn't going to give up, even though she'd hit him, even though he'd already pissed her off. He could care less if Cassidy approved of him, but he did care about Callum, so nothing could stop him from getting this approval. After a moment of seething, he spoke again, "So what will it be? Huh? What embarrassing, degrading, stupid test do you have for me? I'll do it. I'll do anything. But don't just write me off because you don't like me. I'm not here for you, I'm here for Callum. Maybe if you thought about her for a second instead of yourself, you might think that I might actually be good for her and make her happy."

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments How could her sister be into such an ass? Cass was fully prepared to slam the door into Ryan's stupid face, but he put his foot there, and was ranting once more. Cass widened, the door, her face was slowly returning to its normal color, but her tone was icy as she responded to the idiot, "I wasn't giving you a test, or anything particular. I'm not the spoiled princess you make me out to be, you arrogant ass," Cass poked at his chest with her forefinger, "I just wanted to see you be the kind of guy that she deserved, I wanted you to prove yourself through your attitude and actions, and so far you're failing miserably." Everything that was going on was making her very emotional, and it was taking a toll as tears gathered in her eyes, she blinked them back as best she could, the tears only pissing her off. "I love Callum more than you ever could, do not act like you could possibly care about her more than I do, or could love her more, because that would be impossible by any standards. We're two halves of the same whole, we have a connection you could never even compare to," Cass' voice shook slightly, she swallowed and tried to reign everything in, "Fine. Date, do whatever, we'll see how it comes out, who cares what I think, right? You're going to do what you want, and treat her however you want no matter what. You say you care, and that you would do anything for her, yet you can't even control your mouth or thoughts?" Cass was all over the place with her own thoughts, and just wanted to be near Kol or something right then, anywhere but there. "You know if you're not going to leave, then I will," Cass pushed past Ryan, barefoot and all, and headed down the hall away from him, the tears finally tumbling over onto her now pale cheeks.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Seeing tears in Cass's eyes sobered Ryan, and he instantly felt bad. It was true, he had a temper, and if he was honest Cass irritated him. But she was right. Biting on his tongue, he almost just let her walk away, but he couldn't. Not until I prove it to her. Taking two steps don't the hall after her, he called out. "Wait.... I just... Listen... She cares what you think. Through that, I care. I..." He frowned, struggling to explain. "I scared her, this morning. I made her cry. And Callum crying is... It's everything wrong with the world. I don't know if I deserve her, or even if I'll treat her right. But I do know, that if I get your approval, it'll be a start." He took a breath, admittedly shaky, "I know that you and her are close. And I don't want to replace you or come inbetween that. I don't even think I could. But it's because of that closeness that I'm coming to you. You're the only chance I have to be with her. And you don't have to like me, I just... I just need you to give me a chance. Because I really like her, and if you don't approve, then..." Then I don't stand a chance. Callum would drop me in a snap if Cass said the word. What's the worth of some two bit guard from a family of fives in Illea, when she's a princess who could have any man she wanted? Knowing it'd worked before with Cyrus, he decided to show a little humility. So, Ryan fell onto his knees, uncrossing his arms to place his hands on the carpet of the hallway. He bowed his head, frowning. "Please... I'll do anything. If it shows you that I deserve even a minute of her time, I'll do it. I just don't want my chance with her to end before it even began."

Kol was walking down the hallway to do his chores. King Aric needed a jacket for shooting the next morning, and upon inspecting hem, Kol found out that he there were pulls in his favorite tweed jacket, and being he doorman, that was Kol's job to fix. But at the same time, he was still thinking about Cassidy. Beautiful, silly, sweet Cassidy. They had only met a bit earlier in the day, but his crush was already far bigger than it should've been. So he was walking by her room with Aric's suit jacket, thinking that he may be lucky enough to bump into the fiery redhead, so he could see if he'd been on her mind at all. Once he neared the diplomats wing, though, he heard loud voices and arguing, one of the voices belonging to his little princess. What could be going wrong now? Kol quickened his steps and rounded the corner to see Cassidy standing, barefoot, in the middle of he hallway, with tears streaming down her cheeks. And at her feet, Ryan, one of the guards. He was usually a quiet guy, but just then, he was kneeling at Cassidy's feet and practically begging to have a chance...with Cassidy's twin? Kol's cheeks blazed with not only anger towards Ryan, but also embarrassment for the man. He was begin to have a chance and making a complete fool of himself, Cassidy wasn't like that. "Excuse me," Kol said loudly as he entered, placing a hand on Cassidy's mid back to help her calm down some. "Is there a problem here? Is there a reason you're making her cry, Ryan?" He asked, trying to muster up every ounce of confidence he had to talk to the other man. "I think you should leave her be for a while, mate." He said firmly, his blue eyes only for the freckled girl beside him.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Wait? Cass halted in her footsteps automatically, but was tempted to start walking again until she heard the knees hit the floor, she slowly glanced back over her shoulder to see Ryan on the floor, begging. This wasn't what she had in mind either. What was she supposed to say to this? Princess Cass, a title she forgot often, was just about to turn around and start shouting all over again, but her knight in shining armor stepped in right then, and she couldn't help but feel instantly at ease with his presence. Kol. His hand went to her back, she leaned into him slightly, she was trembling, and her body felt weak, almost drained. Kol was talking to Ryan, and Cass decided, for once, to let someone else take the lead, and to let herself out of answering anything just yet, well anything concrete at least, all she whispered was, "Show me," To Ryan before leaning fully into Kol and hoping that he would lead her away from Ryan. She truly didn't trust him, nor did she like how he made her so upset and anxious for her sister, she wasn't comfortable with the way he'd made her sister cry that morning, or the expression he'd had on his face when he'd reacted that morning. Cass knew that she was probably just overreacting, but that didn't effect how she still felt weary of him.
