Rant about the books you read that you had high expectations for that disappointed you thoroughly.

This might be very controversial but Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman. It made me really uncomfortable at times and normally I can read things without getting super grossed out but I had to set the book down at times to recover. I had super high hopes and was definitely let down
so i read the inheritance games before it got popular, but i still think its 1 star.
Oh my god ugly love.**This isn’t an attack on colleen hoover or her writing style, i think she’s overhated and people like jumping on the band wagon of slandering her
The reason I disliked this book is not because of the writing style or some cringe moments that people always point out if they’re leaving a bad review of this book. My problem was actually the main plot.
The male love interest gave the female love interest a lot of warning that he was not interested in forming a relationship with her at all, and if she wished to sleep with him she couldn’t expect a future with him.
Well, that wasn’t enough for her and she had to pry and pry this traumatized man for a relationship.
The worst part is, she got her way in the end!
I just really personally don’t like the “i can change him/“fix” him trope, and if i knew that was the basis of this book, i would have probably skipped it.
I am not a romance reader that might influence my opinion but to me it's any Brittainy Cherry book. Every book is the same. They have a shared past (often childhood), something happend, they meet again years later, get together, problem catches up, gets solved and voilà...
ugly lovei hated how it was written and i was mostly uninterested with the plot. i think it would’ve been more interesting if the book was about miles and rachel and their story.
This has nothing to do with Colleen Hoover and the whole drama with her btw. I just found the book and its plot just not well written and uninteresting.

i do you have to say the Jewish representation in this book was SPOT ON!!
I have never read a book this accurate to what it’s like to be Jewish.
It’s always just like they mention it once the one character celebrate Hanukah and that’s it. It’s actually annoying. This book really brought the reality of what it’s like to be Jewish for a lot of people out there.

I know I’m renting about the good parts of this book but damn I had to say it.

I just felt bad for the love interest even though I didn’t like him either.
archer’s voice, maybe i’m just not a small town romance girl but it was so boring and predictable and i didn’t like the romance
I agree with call me by your name, the movie was also better ( Srry my opinion) but parts of the book kinda made me uncomfy- it was mostly about their relationship and the age gap…
It ends with us .... I really liked it but it was way too overhyped - everyone said it made them cry? HOW?!?!?!?!

Archer's Voice, It Ends With Us, and Midnight Library
I don't think it's super popular anymore, but Maze Runner is one of those books that everyone was talking about for a while, but I didn't like it at all. I found it very boring

Birnam Wood...it just rambles and rambles and rambles on and is still rambling at the end. I can't stand when a book has no chapters to clearly advance sections of the story. This more than 400 page novel has only 3 sections and zero chapter in each section.
