Behind Closed Doors: Carol Wye: This was a book I read late into the night, seized by the story and the fate of both Stacie and Lyra. While I enjoyed the book enough to rate it as a 4, the ending seemed rushed, and in some elements, rather contrived. I didn't see evidence that Stacie warmed up to Jack, which was suggested she had, but I felt she was quite attracted to her former lover, now married. As much as was made of Stacie's love and concern for Lyra, I would like to have had a suggestion that they would remain close in future, despite Jack. Still, it was an engaging read that kept me engrossed.

My suspicions of Jack and doubts that Lyra really had been kidnapped turned out well founded. ‘Don’t go to the police’ is a sure giveaway for an inside job.
