The Sandwing fortress sits in the middle of the sandwing kingdom. The castle itself is surrounded by a vast wall, the sandstone still stained with dragon blood. There is a large courtyard bordering the palace, where a giant black obelisk stands, homage to where Former Queen Oasis fell. Inside the palace, many visitors tend to get lost, the palace is drafty and open with windows and courtyards at every turn. It is described as a maze of rooms, where each one looks like the last. Various tapestries line the walls as well as torches, though these often stay unlit due to the heat of the desert. There is a tall windowless tower in one of the many courtyards, which used to be the "weirdling tower" where Burn housed her many findings. It is now repurposed as a holding room for prisoners, a lovely addition to the dungeon. Deep below the fortress is a labyrinth of rooms, of prisons. This is the dungeon. The throne room sits at the center of it all, a vast room decorated with wide windows, jewels embedded in the walls and the Eye of Onyx, which sits above a golden throne.
