All the evidence Oscar collected was later determined to be flawed and unable to be used by the DA against Shawn. Did you think it was deliberate on his part at the moment of discovery? Did Bree do the right thing in putting him on administrative leave? Should she have let him go? Should he be investigated and charged?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Yes, this was the third strike against Oscar and his infraction was deliberate. I thought he should be fired at that point in time.

Robin (robinmy) | 2454 comments Yes, I think it was deliberate. Oscar was helping Elias Donovan and doing whatever he asked. Bree putting Oscar on administrative leave was the right thing to do. I think she did this as a first step to getting rid of him since the officers are probably part of a union. And, yes, he should be investigated and charged. The big problem with that is it could call in question any case that he collected evidence on where they got a conviction. All of those cases would need to be looked at closely.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments Yes, definitely deliberate and this is when I suspected he was working for Elias.

While I understand why administrative leave was the better option, it's a pity she couldn't fire him immediately.

After book #2, I really thought Oscar had turned over a new leaf (and was contrite after accidentally shooting Matt), but obviously not.

Robin (robinmy) | 2454 comments It would have been fun to watch her fire him and kick his butt out the door. Too bad it doesn't work that way.

Lauren - I think the guy who shot Matt was Officer Rogers. I don't think we've seen him since he was badly injured himself.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments @Robin - Ahh! That explains my confusion. Thanks!

I suspected Oscar early on in the story, especially after the leak to Elias. After Shawn’s melee in holding? I was convinced he was a dirty cop.

Employment laws are tricky, especially within the government and law enforcement as there is a process. I just saw administrative leave as a precursor to him being fired. And, it would give Bree time to investigate into any criminal behavior.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3485 comments I agree with all of you. This wasn't a rookie mistake. Oscar knew what he was doing and sabotaged the evidence and the investigation.
