It's one of the few books I've read that I think would have been better twice as long, with more development of the characters...In other words, more like Station Eleven or The Glass Hotel. I enjoyed the read, but I so much wished it had been fleshed out more, I felt like it was over before it had even started. Unlike SE's waves and drops it was all little emotionless blips between timeframes, like a kiddie coaster...formed a nice loop, but in the end went nowhere.
It did feel a bit bizarro world to see "expertly assembled" and "persuasively written" presented as reasons to NOT pick a book.
i really did not like Sea of Tranquility and neither did the 4 members of my book club who were in attendance for our SoT meetup. I don't get the hype.
