message 1: by Melanie, place holding for a future mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Melanie | 1911 comments April will be a FREE CHOICE month. Nominate a book to be our group read. It can be from any genre or theme so long as the book is classified as YA and not already on our GROUP BOOK SHELF. Standard nominating rules still apply (see below).

Nominating Rules:
- Nomination Period: Starts March 5 and will stay open for 7 days or until we have enough valid nominations.
- You may nominate multiple books and the mods will triage the list if necessary.
- All nominations need to be classified as YA unless the nominating category specifically allows exceptions.
- Books must be first in a series or a standalone.
- Books must be at least 3 months old.
- Books must be available in print and not just ebook form. It is helpful to nominate books that are easy to access; so that members do not struggle to acquire the book if it wins in the polls.
- No author promotions allowed.
- The top nominations will be in the polls.
Next Steps: After nominations, the books will go to a poll for 7 days to determine the winner.

Melanie | 1911 comments I will nominate Gallant by V.E. Schwab. Dark academia is not my favorite genre, but my IRL best friend says I have to read this book.

Gallant by V.E. Schwab

Melanie | 1911 comments I made a poll by selecting 1 book from each genre on our bookshelf.
Vote here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2...

Gallant by V.E. Schwab Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1) by Kerri Maniscalco Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis All the Rage by Courtney Summers Free Lunch by Rex Ogle

I personally have not read any of these books.

DivaDiane SM | 290 comments Thanks, Melanie, and sorry for my lack of participation lately. Stretched a little thin these days.

Melanie | 1911 comments The vote is still very tight and seems to be volleying back and forth between Across the Universe and Stalking Jack the Ripper. One day left to vote!
