PtP - Bookish Knights (4)
1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.2. Deep Sleeper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 29 March
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

Just Five More Minutes
Hey REM sleepers!Welcome to Team 4…we’ll have to work on a name, but I’m not great at coming up with those so any and all suggestions are welcome. 🙂
This is a favorite challenge of mine and I’ve enjoyed being a player and/or captain for many rounds! If we have any new players, do not hesitate to ask questions. We’ve all been there and will help answer what we can. If myself or other team members don’t have the answer, we’ll reach out to Jane. I’m not on my computer much during the weekend, but I check on posts via my Goodreads app so I’ll likely see any questions that come through.
I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump in that I haven’t pushed myself to read as many new-to-me books this year as I’d like. I’m loving my reread of the In Death series for the second time and have purposely been reading a bunch of them in a row to keep details fresh…it’s so much fun! Whether I’m in a slump or not, I generally read romance books…I read across a lot of genres and tropes and enjoy most of them.
FYI: in case you’re curious, the collage in post 4 is my babies sleeping…two have passed on to Rainbow Bridge, but the other two keep me hopping!
Howdy, everyone! I'm here!Kathy, you are so organized. I love it! =D
Okay, so about me. My name is Vanessa and I live in Western Kentucky so I'm in the Central time zone. I'm married and have four children. When it comes to reading I am sort of eclectic but my go-to genres are Romance, Fantasy, and SciFi. I love all kinds of subgenres too. Some of my favorites are sports romance, enemies-to-lovers romance, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, bully romance, rockstar romance, single parent romance, small town romance, and tons more. =P
I am not the best at coming up with team names but here are a few I thought of:Bookish Dreams
Bookish Dreamers
Bookish Insomniacs
Bookish Knights (Play on words for night.)
Just Five More Minutes
I think that Bookish Knights is my favorite of these with Bookish Insomniacs coming in second.
Hi Team! I'm Christy and I live in Georgetown, TX (a suburb of Austin) with my dog, Pippa. I mostly read romance/chick lit. I used to branch out a lot more, but work has been stressful so I've been focused on easy reading, so I've been staying away from more literary fiction.
Jane (PS) wrote: "Those animals sleeping are just adorable!! And your fur-babies in msg 4 ❤️"thanks Jane! it's always fun trying to find cute images for any reason! 😊

thanks for the great suggestions, Vanessa! I listed them all in message #16...any one else have ideas?
Hi I’m Louise from South Wales in the Uk where it is currently 6:30am. I have played PtP a number of times and am a bit of a challenge addict generally participating in 3 or 4 team challenges at a time and upwards of 6 solo challenges. I love being pushed to search for the elusive one book fits all, alas I have never quite found it. I read a wide variety of genres but tend to avoid Horror. I am hopeless with coming up with creative names but I do like
Bookish Knights
I’m liking Bookish Knights also...we’ll wait to see what Nicole says when she checks in...Christy, what are your thoughts?
Hello all. My name is Nicole. I like the name Bookish Knights. This is one of my favorite challenges. I live in Richmond VA. I have 4 animals, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I love to read anything romance. Lately I have been reading darker romance. Not a huge fan of historical romance. I am not the fastest reader but I can keep up.

How It Fits: Author last name starts with B.
Completion Post – Week 1
The Friend Zone, Abby Jimenez – 4/2/23 – ✮✮✮✮✮
Review — This book has been on my radar for a while, but I was hesitant to read it because of the subject matter. While I struggled with Kristen’s journey because it mirrored my own in some ways, I also appreciated how well the author portrayed her battle with fibroids and likely infertility. There were a lot of times I wished I could smack her upside the head because she seemed so laser focused on allowing Josh to find someone who could birth him a baseball team, I also understand not wanting to take the opportunity to become a parent away from someone. For his part, I loved how supportive Josh was and how well he handled the fall out when Kristen finally told him why she wouldn’t commit to him. There were a few spots in the story that, if handled differently, could have ruined this book for me. But as I said, the author handled the ups and downs throughout this story well and truly captured the struggles a woman goes through when she wants a family and likely can’t achieve that naturally. I laughed throughout this book at Kristen’s and Josh’s antics and cried during some gut wrenching scenes, but I’m so glad I finally read this book and can’t wait to see what the next one brings.

Aww, this book sounds good. I've heard of it but I never really knew what it was about. I think that I'll have to read it at some point. I don't really identify with the subject matter personally but I bet the story is really good. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Rating: 5*
Review
Taylor Jenkins Reid is slowly becoming my go to author for recent Historical Fiction novels. I listened to the full audio cast production which made the whole novel sound real, I actually had to double check the band didn’t really exist. We get to hear the band members versions of events which were often conflicting or misremembered as they chronicle their rise to fame in the 70s and sudden disappearance from the world of music. Well put together novel that like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Malibu Rising completely immerses you in a world so real that leaves you wanting more.
