Jane (PS) | 25237 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Deep Sleeper - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 29 March

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A/Announcement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

Jane (PS) | 25237 comments Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts.

For selection post Option 1 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
How the book qualifies - please note which qualifying bookshelf/list you are using or the tags that justifies that it works.
If the theme is based off the bookcover, post the cover. If there is a letter count in the title, publication date etc, please note these details.

For selection post Option 2 you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.

For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #
PASS

For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)
Review

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this information in a NEW post. I don't want to have to keep going backwards in the thread.

Teresa (teresab78) | 1107 comments Welcome All!!!

🔖First things first - please read all rules and note the format for posting.

🔖Next - Introduce yourself!

My name is Teresa, I live in southern Alberta, Canada with my husband, two teenage children, and four cats! I love to crochet, do diamond dot paintings, and read :D

I read mostly MM Romance - just about all genres - as well as some MF PNR, sci-fi, and fantasy.

🔖Last suggest some Team Names :D I'm not always very original but some ideas are:

Lucky Number Seven
The Seven Readers
Seven Silver Selkies
Odds are Even
Read, Read, Read your Books

Let's all have fun!!!

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) | 1137 comments Hi, team! I'm Jamie. I'm from Texas and I mainly read F/F romances of all genre with the occasional M/F romance here and there. I'm also really into horror. I'm looking forward to this round of PtP!

As for team names I really like Seven Silver Selkies. That gets my vote. :)

I only read M/M but will read any genre.

I also like the Seven Silver Selkies!!

Any categories you all are looking forward to? any you're not?

I am not looking forward to 4. Too little sleep swells a hormone that makes you feel hungry. Read a book with food or drink on the cover. - I have a hard time finding anything on my shelves!!

Jamie (TheRebelliousReader) (iambrucewayne) | 1137 comments Honestly, I'm not looking forward to any of the ones that you have to read from lists. None of them feature F/F books which is unfortunate and annoying but I'll make it work.

Rating: ★★★
Review: Kris Bryant is so hit or miss with me and this one was ultimately a miss. It wasn’t awful, hence the three stars, but it just felt empty. While the sexual chemistry between Ki and Taryn was definitely there I didn’t feel any romantic chemistry which made the romance a fail for me. It also didn’t help that we don’t really get to know the characters as they are very one dimensional and underdeveloped. I was hoping it was going to be a bit more taboo since Ki was Taryn’s student but there really wasn’t.

As for what I did enjoy about this I do like Bryan’t writing and this was a quick read. Also, the smut was great and I did like the ending. Also, all the cooking stuff was interesting but overall this was just fine. Nothing amazing or memorable but it was okay.

Completion. Why would we need double posts?

Added another, selection section to it. Just not sure why we need all the extra posting.

You just need two posts - selection and completion. The completion post does need a rating and review though, so could you add that above?

The only time you need more than two posts is if you change your mind on your book mid week, then you would need to make a new selection post.

The reason is you can only select the book during the week the theme is called, but you can finish reading the next week if you don't get it done on time, hence, you need both the selection and completion. As well it gives time to check the verification so that a player doesn't get stuck reading a book that doesn't qualify for the theme.

Jane (PS) | 25237 comments ☘Misericordia☘ wrote: "God, there even are 'waffling' posts. That's so weird."

Hi M - in the past, some ppl typed all over their posts as they work out what they want to read. Its too easy to miss the actual post for both the Captain and me when we are tracking their progress. hence the request for no 'waffling' in the selection/completion posts.

And two posts are required as per Teresa's explanation. It just easier for us to track over multiple weeks.

You have an empty selection post in msg 31. Just transfer your selection details to that post and leave msg 36 as your completion.

Thanks.

Review:
I cannot begin to say how much I loved this one. It's one of those rare psychology memoirs that didn't feel like a rant on the topic 'parents did it to me'. While parents do a lot of stuff both for and to us, it's rarely up to just their frivolous decisions how we turn out. Anyway, no matter how we grow up we'll have stuff to scare our psychologist into going to theirs. LOL!
A great read. A lot of cooking. An interesting take on prescriptions and on 'Eat, pray, love' (or maybe 'cook, love, travel?')

Review:
I love historical romances but I was afraid of how will this book portray trans people in 19 century. Violet was not open about being trans. The only people who know are her family and later her childhood friend found out. What it boders me is how he found out. And I fully understand why he reacted the way he reacted the moment he found out. When he got a clear mind he apologized to Violet. She was almost all in when he didn't know she is his dead bff but she closed herself off the moment he found out. He didn't care that he have feeling for her even though she was a guy before which we like. Especially during that time period

Robin was a delightful character! There are a lot of good points made about the behaviour in the wealthy that isn’t accepted by the poor. I loved Hart and how his character grew. Alice and Marianne were great as well. As always with Ms Charles, the writing is superb and the story engaging!
