Am I the only who is confused as to why Jude & Taryn aren’t more mad at madoc? Like I would’ve held a grudge after what he did to their parents

No like seriously, how did Jude and Taryn just basically pretend that never happened

Forreal that’s what I’m thinking, maybe it’s some type of fear response/defense mechanism? They have no where to go at this point so they’re trying to make the best out of what they have?

when do you think you'll finish the book?

Probably by the end of the week if I read every day

I struggled with it too until a friend pointed something out to me. If our parents are dead, and we live in a world that is not our own, surrounded by people who aren't like us, we tend to accept any safety and kindness that comes our way... even if the source is one we should hate and blame for all our misfortunes. you could look at this book as a redemption arc for Madoc maybe? in so far as he didn't leave jude and taryn to starve as orphans

exactly like, I'd feel torn too since he could have just taken Vivi and left Taryn and Jude homeless but instead he took them in and treats them as his own

I got sick and my brain can't process fantasy atm so I'm still on chapter five

hey it’s okay haha it took me a few chapters to even get invested in the story, I’m barely on Chapter 15. Don’t push yourself to read if you don’t feel like it otherwise it ends up not being fun, especially if you aren’t feeling well!

Question, because I feel like I missed something--
What chapter should we be on by the end of this week?

So I’d say Chapter 10, I planned it out to where basically each week is about 10 chapters so we can finish it by the end of March! Hopefully that isn’t too bad or too many chapters per week 😅 We can always adjust if we need to
