Jonas | 6 comments What do you think about Liminal spaces. Do you find it more uncanny/unsettling or more nostalgic

message 2: by Netanella (new)

Netanella | 582 comments Hi Jonas,

If it's the shoreline along the beach, I find liminal spaces nostalgic and beautiful transition areas.

If it's the book Liminal Spaces: An Anthology of Dark Speculative Fiction by Kevin Lucia, I find it unsettling.

Adrienne L I usually find it both beautiful and uncanny, if there's something else about the space that makes it aesthetically pleasing (like the beach as Netanella said, or like an empty Gothic cathedral or old train station). I find it more unsettling if it's something like an empty industrial building/subway station/airport.

I didn't know about that anthology. I'll have to check it out.

Jonas | 6 comments Dark Paradise and After Hours are two genres that are also interesting
