Rick | 2306 comments Ah … what exactly is this supposed to be (other than rather embarrassing)?

Rick | 2306 comments Okay, here’s some more info.

But I’m still not feeling it.

Travis (travishiltz) | 2461 comments So, we're doing another one of these, but not as good as the last time...?

That’s what it looks like.
And this one has someone searching for the Doctor.
And that means the Doctor might not ever appear in the entire thing. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Maybe some companions sprinkled about through the whole thing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Travis (travishiltz) | 2461 comments It is cute that one of the projects is titled 'Four to Doom's day', but otherwise, I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed.

Rick | 2306 comments Me to.
Although technically Big Finish hasn’t announced anything except the release, they’ve still not released the name.
Oh and the BBC release is Doctor Who: Four from Doom's Day: Doom's Day Audio Original not Doctor Who: Four to Doomsday - an important distinction. 😸 But I’ll be a happy boy if Adric does show up. 😸

Rick | 2306 comments Now that my various orders for the bits and pieces of this have started coming in, I read the opening short story from James Goss. It wasn’t all that exciting. Feels rather like someone trying very, very hard to be like Douglas Adams. Trying too hard actually. Doctor Who: Doom's Day: Hour One

Rick | 2306 comments Doctor Who: Four Hours Of Doom's Day picks up where the prologue left off. We see what Doom’s been up to for the next four hours while on her search for The Doctor. It’s pretty bad stuff. Actually, I find this whole thing rather embarrassing for the franchise.

Travis (travishiltz) | 2461 comments Yeah, I made a few halfhearted attempts to check this event out, and have been mostly underwhelmed/disappointed.

Rick | 2306 comments And the underwhelmed sensations continue. I just finished the kindle versions of both Doctor Who: Doom's Day #1 & Doctor Who: Doom's Day #2 and neither lifted me up or did much for me. Lack of characterization continues in this series and the whole thing feels like a act of unmitigated futility. But at least these comics were slightly better than the previous installments, but that’s not really saying much.

Rick | 2306 comments Next up for me is Doctor Who: Doom's Day: Extraction Point, as I doubt I’ll bother trying to track down the video game. Just waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

Rick | 2306 comments And now I’ve also finished Doctor Who: Doom's Day: Extraction Point, Doctor Who: Four from Doom's Day: Doom's Day Audio Original and Doctor Who: Doom’s Day: Dying Hours and the finale epilogue. And I’ve got to say the audiobook and then audio-drama really elevated things, but that’s really not saying much. Considering how unremarkable the rest of this media crossover event was. And the finale epilogue was just a disappointment.
