Amanda (porkchop0911) | 807 comments You will than take your partners name and treat it like acrostic form. Take each letter of your partners name and read a book that starts with that letter in the title. For example if someone was partnered with me you would read books:
A-An Anonymous Girl
M-Murder on the Orient Express
A-The Adventures of Tom Sawyer
N-New Moon
D-Divergent
A-The Alchemist
A, AND, and THE do not count for the letter
Once you complete each others name only 1 team member has to go over to the
Check-In Thread

There will also be bonus tasks after you finish each others names to get to know each other better.

This is a 2 month challenge that will run April 1 to May 31. All standard rules will apply.

Alyana | 1956 comments Hi Geri! Did I spell your name right?

message 3: by Geri (last edited Mar 24, 2023 06:38AM) (new)

Geri | 310 comments Hi Alyana Yes. It’s Geri, 1 r. 🙂

message 4: by Geri (last edited Mar 24, 2023 06:47AM) (new)

Geri | 310 comments Sorry. I didn’t realize the threads were up until today!

It may take me until the end of April to spell your name. I have a few books on my TBR that start with Y. Both don’t get released until mid to late April. 🙂

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez You Shouldn't Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose

message 5: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 1956 comments Hi! No worries. We can go at our own pace. I'm trying to match the books with the challenges that I'm doing as well.

How are you? Where are you located?

message 6: by Geri (last edited Mar 24, 2023 09:16AM) (new)

Geri | 310 comments I live about a half hour from Chicago. Where do you live?

I will try to coordinate my books with my other challenges too. I’m in way too many individual challenges. I am trying to cut down as I finish them. 🙂

I am also looking for another Y book. I may have a few more options…

What type of books do you read? I read pretty much anything, except non fiction.

message 7: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 1956 comments I'm from Queens, NY. I have too many individual challenges and one team challenge which I cannot say no to. I kept telling myself to cut it down but they all are tempting lol.

I mostly read mysteries, thrillers, contemporary and some romance. Not much into scifi fantasy. When it comes to nonfic, it's mostly memoirs.

I read/listen through audiobooks, it works better for me. How about you?

message 8: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments As you can probably tell from my profile pic, I am definitely into audiobooks. 🙂 They make chores and housework much more enjoyable!

Yes. I try to keep team challenges down. But I know what you mean, sometimes you can’t say no.

Yep. I love mystery, thrillers too. I’m reading Girl, Forgotten right now. I used to love Karin Slaughter. She writes well. And this book is well done. But I’m starting to find her books a little too dark, disturbing. I’m getting older and changing, I guess!

I just noticed your profile pic, wow! I'm glad I found a fellow audio reader! 😁

I've read a couple of Karin Slaughter books and I agree, she's good but the stories are too graphic and disturbing for me.

Geri | 310 comments I’m going to post my spell out below. After both of us finish, we can just create a tracking post with both completion posts. So Amanda can find them easily. 🙂 I will try to read 1-2 books a week. So it probably will take me a month. I definitely want to do some of the bonus tasks too. We should be able to in May.

How is your weekend? Yesterday my husband and I were running around. We are in the planning phase of a bathroom remodel. So far we have changed our minds 3 times about we want. LOL Hopefully, we will come to a final decision soon. We’d like to have it done in the summer.

Here are a few more get to know you questions, are you married, kids, pets?

I am married, no kids, 2 very spoiled cats. But we love them to death! LOL

I agree with one completion post when we're done with the spell outs.

Yes, I'm married. My husband and I have an 8 year old and a pet fish. We live in an apartment building so pets are not allowed. I have a book friend that has very spoiled cats as well, they're cute! I love watching cat videos too haha. I work part time in our public library and that makes audiobooks work better for me :)

My weekend is okay. It was raining all day yesterday, I went out to update my job application at one of the library branches. Today, staying home to do laundry and some chores. Husband starts his work week on a Sunday.

message 14: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments I love your job! I always thought working at a library would be great. Especially for an avid reader.

An 8 yr old will definitely keep you busy! 🙂

It’s good your post is below mine. No need for a tracking post now!

It's really fun at work, love my job and my coworkers. Yes you were right she is becoming a pain in the a** 😂😂😂

What do you do for a living?

message 16: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments I’m a housewife now. I used to work at a hospital as a respiratory therapist. Glad I stopped working pre pandemic.

I have changed my mind about a few books already. 🙂 I’ll start a book today. That way I can finish a few by the weekend.

Wow that's nice. I was a housewife for 7 years, I just went back to work last year.

I'm just finishing my books for UNO this month and I will organize my planned books. I'll probably start one book in a day or two.

message 18: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 1956 comments I started In The Deep today. You?

message 19: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments I finished You Are Not Alone. I’ll be finished with Arch-Conspirator tonight. Only 3 hours on audio. 112 pages. I’ll finish another tomorrow. Don’t feel rushed, though. I had a few more letters to read for. I needed to get a head start. Of course, I signed up for new team challenges that start in April. LOL I say I will take it easy. But I never learn. 🙂

Let me know what you thought of Good as Dead. If that’s the book you meant. I read that recently. I couldn’t finish it. But it could have been me. Not in the right mood.

message 20: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 1956 comments I agree with you. I keep signing up with too many challenges. 🤣🤣🤣

I'll probably start Good as Dead next week. I noticed that you are also a member of TOAP? I'm addicted with their buttons! 🥰

message 21: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments Yep. I am a member of TOAP. I don’t collect the buttons. Just love the challenges.

message 22: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments I finished 1 more book. Next week, I’ll only finish one. And I changed 1 book because it works better for my team challenges. 🙂 I’m finally figuring things out. At first, a new challenge can seem so confusing. LOL

How are your challenges going?

I should be done with my G book later today. The Yahtzee challenge took me days to figure out and it made it hard for me which one to start first plus the tasks that needs to be done. I know reading for a task is just not good but I can't help but kept on signing up haha

message 24: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments I had to think about Yahtzee too. I just looked at the first few books for April to see which number was the most common. I’ll probably do that for the rest of the parts. I don’t think I’ll be able to do 5 games. I looked through my books and only found 2 books with 3 of the same number for Yahtzee.

I get burned out on task related challenges too. But for some reason I really enjoy TOAP challenges. One task at a time makes it feel less overwhelming, I guess. I try to curb tasks, though!

message 25: by Alyana (new)

Alyana | 1956 comments Hi Geri, I finished my books.. How's your reading?

message 26: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments Thanks for posting! I finished too. I just forgot to update. 🙂 I’ll post that we are ready for some bonus tasks.

I'll be finishing my book tomorrow that has a cat mentioned in it. Take your time, I'll be leaving for a cruise vacation this weekend and won't be able to log-in here as much as I wanted to. But I will def listen to books.

message 42: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments Wow, a cruise! Have a great time! Where are you going?

Dog is fine. I need to read the book for an individual challenge. None of the books I have planned has a cat either. I’m in 3 team challenges currently. One will end soon. But of course, I signed up for one today that starts in May. LOL

Thank you! We're leaving from here going to Florida then the Bahamas for a week. Our second since pre-pandemic. Much needed break.

I'm playing UNO that will end this month and I signed up for tower teams that will start in May. Are we talking about the same challenge? lol

message 44: by Geri (new)

Geri | 310 comments That sounds great! Hubby and I did a 4 night cruise from Florida to Bahamas years ago. It was wonderful. You’ll definitely get some fun and rest.

Yes. I signed up for Towers today. I like that it seems pretty simple this time. I skipped the last one or two. It’ll be fun getting back into it.
