Slightly soggy blossoms squishing underfoot, Renée walked down a path. It must have rained at night, as everything was damp, but the sweet smell of flowers was rising once again. Renée tried to ignore it, even the cheapest perfumes smelt better than wet plants.
Flicking her hair, Renée glared at the wet seats and continued walking. It was sunny, so there would be a dry seat somewhere, probably just not under a dripping, sagging tree. If Renée had it her way (which she usually did), there would be no rain. Unfortunately, even the richest person in the world can't control the weather. The branches around her stopped suddenly as she entered a courtyard. The seats surrounding had almost dried out, and Renée sat down on one, pulling out her phone.

caitlin; Fin dawdled aimlessly through the park, eyes darting around and taking in the scenary. There was water everywhere, dripping from the leaves. It had been a wet night, definitely. However, now, the sun was shining beautifully above him so the weather must be clearing up. Fin continued to walk without really paying attention until he came to a sort of clearing or courtyard with seats. They looked to be quite dry and a pretty girl was sitting on one. Fin blushed at this thought and walked over to her slowly, not wanting to rush and fall over or something ridiculous like that. He sat down on the bench next to her, looking at her as she was on her phone. He didn't want to interrupt her since she seemed busy but he also wanted to try to make a friend. Fin coughed subtly into his open hand and then waited to see if the girl would see him.

"Don't you know that coughing is a sure sign of a cold? I'd hate you to be sick, because then you might pass it on to me."
The response was out of Renée's mouth before she'd even really processed what was going on. Good. Now the boy might leave her alone. She really didn't need any more friends at the moment, and her mother would expect her to tell her everything about Renée's day. Renée really didn't have time for that, and coming up with lies was so exhausting. Hopefully the boy would see her not-so-suttle insult and leave, or at least leave her alone.

((I have to go now, but I'll be back on in 12 hours (wow that's a long time)))

caitlin;
((haha okay :) ))

Fin looked confused when the girl said he might have a cold which he could pass onto her. Fin didn't really understand what she was implying, that he should go away, so he just grinned and shook his head. "No, actually, I'm not ill at all," Fin assured her kindly as if he was doing her a big favour. "I was just coughing because I had something stuck in the back of my throat," Fin shrugged with an awkward smile. Then, he remembered that he didn't even know this girl! "Sorry, I'm Fin," Fin introduced himself quickly. "And you are?" Fin hoped the girl would want to make friends. Fin liked making friends. Making friends was much easier than trying to go out with someone. The thought of doing that made Fin incredibly nervous.

No, I'm not ill at all. Renée rolled her eyes. The boy was remarkably dense for someone of his age, and for someone living in Rilltown. He hadn't even taken her not-so-subtle hint. He probably wouldn't last very long.
"My name is Renée," she said coldly, staring at her phone. Her mother was just checking up on her, for the third time today. I'm about to buy some lunch, she sent back, hoping that would reassure her mother for a while linger. She looked at the boy - Fin, or whatever his name was.
"Why are you still here?"

caitlin;
Fin grinned and ignored her cold tone. "It's nice to meet you, Renee," Fin said politely, glad to know her name. She didn't seem overly friendly but Fin liked trying to make friends with whoever he met. It was just his personality; he couldn't help being so friendly to everyone he met.

When Renee asked why he was still there, Fin frowned unhappily. Well, he was still there because he wanted to make a friend! "Well, I was hoping to get to know you," Fin explained, trying to keep his voice light but it was difficult with this girl being so grumpy.

((Sorry, bad post :( ))

Making friends? Renée didn't need any more friends, and, if Fin knew what was good for him, he should probably be satisfied with he ones he had.
"Who are you trying to make friends with?" she asked. Her phone bleeped in her hand, and she looked down.
Dinner at 6:00. Dinner was always at six, why her mother needed to remind her, Renée had no idea. Nothing ever changed at home. Sending a quick text back, she turned off her phone.

caitlin;
Fin furrowed his brow and gave Renee a strange look. He couldn't really understand what was wrong with this girl and why she was so moody. Maybe she had trouble at home? Okay, Fin felt bad now and he gave her a warm smile. He didn't want to seem unfriendly to the girl. Also, he didn't want to give Renee a reason to bite his head off.

"I'm trying to make friends with you, of course!" Fin told her as if it was obvious. "It's not like there's anyone else here," Fin reasoned, glancing around the clearing. It was deserted, apart from them. He couldn't understand why this girl seemed so snappy.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" Renée asked. "Like, I don't know, helping old ladies across the road or collecting more badges?"
Renée knew that could be going to far, even though she didn't really care, and Fin seemed like the sort of person who probably spent all his spare time helping his elderly neighbors or something. He could have been one of the perfect suburban kids, one of the ones all parents wished they had. Renée's parents, had, of course loved her dearly, but she had had that difficult period when she was ten...
Which didn't matter, because she'd learnt to act like a cute kid around her parents. She could be as bitchy as she wanted when she was alone.
"Do you actually have any friends anyway?" she added, as a slightly offensive afterthought.

Pink blossoms didn't perk up, nor fell down when Mason Curtis walked by. He was an average boy, considering his grades and his looks, in his senior year at Woodcreek, and he was walking the family dogs in the local park, as an excuse for not doing his homework. His golden retriever were on a tight leash, yet they acted as if they were free to roam wherever they'd like. Molly and Bailey, the two female puppies, steered him in many different directions, and he eventually came across a girl and a boy talking.

His two dogs boldly sprinted over to the teenagers. He thought they were a couple, but he could soon hear their conversation and decided that that was not the case.

caitlin;
((So the order is: Catherine, Bow then Unipinky))

Fin frowned at how rude this girl was. Fin didn't particularly want to be her friend now since she was being so rude but a small, immature part of him wanted to annoy her just to spite her. What? He, Finlay Cadeer, was not at all spiteful! Maybe just breathing in the air around this girl made you ruder than usual.

"No, actually, I was doing that yesterday. Later today, I have to go to the preschool and hand out free ice cream then give money to the needy," Fin retorted sarcastically. Since when was he sarcastic?

When the girl asked if he even had friends, Fin stared at her for a moment before laughing. "Yes, I do have friends," Fin promised her sincerely with a grin. "You see, not all of us hate the world and everyone in it so we socialise and even - gasp - like each other!" Fin told her as if this would be news to her.

When two dogs sprinted over to them, Fin's face lit up in happiness. He loved dogs! They were absolutely adorable! Fin bent down to stroke the little puppies, smiling at them. "Aren't you guys gorgeous!" Fin gushed, scratching the dogs ears happily. He looked up to their owner and smiled brightly. "What are their names?" Fin asked curiously.

Renée stared at Fin for a couple of seconds. How dare he speak to her like that? It was like he'd had a total character change - he'd gone from a nice enough boy to someone who had brushed off her comments like they were nothing. Pursing her lips, Renée looked haughtily at the boy.
"Well, shouldn't you stop playing with the dogs and go to whatever child-care institution you're helping with? They probably don't want you covered in dog hair, anyway,"
She said, with a nod towards the probably rabid beats the boy was playing with. "Half the people in this town are probably allergic, anyway."
