Dull, boring, mundane were all words that Jada would use to describe food shopping. Yet still, here she was, chucking random apples and bananas into a bag and then checking the long shopping list that her Mother gave her. Oh how she hated that her Mother still made her do chores at her age; it was so embarrassing.
Jada brushed a piece of hair out of her eyes, biting her lip. The shopping list was so precise too. Why on Earth did she need to get Granny Smith apples specifically? Why couldn't she just get any old apples? Did it really make a difference? To be honest, it probably did, but who cared? Jada certainly didn't and neither did her Dad. It was just her Mum who acted like getting the wrong type of pasta was a huge crime.
"Okay Mother, I won't forget I promise!" Clark pressed the end button on his iPhone 6 and headed into the grocery store. His mother had sent him to pick up last minute things for her Sunday Tea. He hated to act like the rest of the snobby rich Rilltown kids, but he really didn't understand why she didn't send one of the maids out to shop. He knew nothing about fresh produce, other than the fact that their personal chef loved using it in his elaborate dishes.
Clark grabbed a shopping cart and headed towards the vegetables. He noticed Jada, one of the girls he knew from the Academy. "Jada! Hey how are you?" He asked pushing the cart next to the pretty girl. He stopped and leaned against the handle. Wondering if her mother had sent her out shopping as well.

Jade turned her head with interest when someone called her name, wondering if it was someone she could talk to that would make this trip more interesting. Tilting her head up quite a bit to see Clark's face, Jada smiled coyly, yes it was definitely someone interesting. At his question, Jada shrugged delicately, turning away from his as he leaned against his cart. She bent over to pick something off a low shelf innocently, knowing it make her skirt ride up ever so slightly to her mid-thigh. She pulled up slowly before turning back to him, smiling at him.
"Everything is cool with me," Jada said quietly, dropping the random thing she didn't really need into the shopping cart. Oh well, she would ditch it before the checkout. "How about you? Swimming well?" Jada asked, since, come on, everyone knew how good of a swimmer Clark was. He would be great at basketball with his huge height, but apparently swimming was his thing. Jada pushed a thought away of Clark wearing just swimming trunks and waited patiently for his reply.
Clark laughed as Jada fixed her skirt. She was known for flirting and doing little things like that. But Clark being the good guy that he was, refused to give her the satisfaction of making note of her "clothing malfunction." She was pretty, but he didn't necessarily know if she was his type yet. He smiled as she mentioned swimming. "Yeah, it's really good actually. We have a meet coming up, am I going to see you there?" Clark asked and straightened his stance.

Jada didn't really know why Clark laughed, but it was a nice sound, so she smiled at him sweetly. Jada tucked her hair behind her ear, wondering if he was attracted to her or not. Oh please, practically every boy in their year was attracted to her. It was just whether it was enough to want to kiss her or not. When Clark smiled as she mentioned swimming and started talking about it, Jada listened silently, still looking up at his face. Wow, he was way too tall for her. But still, it was nice. Just hurt her neck a little.
"Hm, that depends," Jada answered when he asked whether he would be seeing her at the swim meet. "Are you going to be wearing Speedos?" Jada asked cheekily, flicking his hard chest gently and smirking to show she was only messing around.
Clark let out a chuckle and pulled on the collar of his shirt. "Of course, " He smiled and saw Jada's eyes grow big. "but not by choice obviously." He laughed, she was so fun to mess with. "Anyway, what are you doing in the grocery store?"

Jada's smirk widened when Clark said he would be wearing Speedos. She didn't care if it was by choice or not; he was still wearing Speedos and he would still look hot. There was that laugh again, that laugh that she didn't know what she had done to receive, or whether it was a bad thing or not.
When he asked what she was doing in the grocery store, Jada gave him a look and rolled her eyes, putting her hands on her hips. "Oh, I'm just here planning my rise to stardom, making discussions for world peace and checking out attractive boys that come and greet me while I try to shop," Jada remarked sarcastically, even though the last comment was true, since she was checking out Clark.
"Sounds like your busy, I should get to it myself. I'll see you around? Maybe at the Carnival?" Clark ask, bringing the conversation to an end with a smile. He needed to get home with the food for his mother's tea. He could already feel his iPhone start to vibrate again. Probably another call from his mother. He wondered where Courtney was, his twin sister, and why she wasn't out running errands with him.

When Clark seemed like he wanted to leave, so soon after their meeting, Jada pouted and looked up at Clark with sad eyes. She didn't want him to leave already!
"Why are you ditching me so soon, Clark?" Jada asked quietly, wringing her hands together nervously. Was she really boring or something? "Could we maybe hang out again some time?" Jada asked casually, but she actually really wanted to see him again.
"Of course! My mom is just riding my ass about getting home with this food." Clark said denying another call from his mother. She was planning to launch her new business at her tea on Sunday, and she wanted everything to be perfect. Clark felt bad for ditching Jada like this but he also didn't want a bunch of yelling and lecturing to take place as soon as he got home.
"What's your nome Jada?" He opened his contacts and handed her his phone. He watched her type it in and wondered if she really wanted to get to know him, or what he had to offer.

Jada smiled in relief when Clark said that he was only leaving because his Mum was nagging, not because he wanted to. For some reason, she actually felt like getting to know Clark, rather than just flirting with him - though she would still flirt. He seemed like a really nice guy, not like the ones that Jada usually talked to.Cough, Maxwell, cough.
She keyed her number into Clark's phone quickly. Normally she didn't give her number out, only because it often made guys think that she actually wanted to date them. But here she was, giving her number to Clark. Funny day. She handed it back carefully, brushing her hand against Clark's as she put it back accidentally. She felt a weird jolting feeling in her stomach, but she didn't know what it was. It made Jada frown, but she otherwise ignored.
Clark smiled and added an emoji next to her name. It was just a weird thing he did with all of his contacts. Everyone in his swim team group chat had a wave emoji, and Courtney had the one of the girl and boy holding hands. It was the closest thing to signify twins you know? Jada's was the princess crown, simply because guys treated her like royalty at school. He didn't add it to make fun of her, but just because he actually thought she should be treated like an actual princess for once. "Clutch. Well, I'll see you around Jada. Hopefully sooner than later." He smiled and playfully pinched her chin. His hands were huge and strong, but he always found away to have such a gentle touch.

Jada returned Clark's smile and blushed ever so slightly when Clark pinched her chin. Then she felt embarrassed, because Jada Current did not blush. She swatted his hands away, but not in an angry way. She was being playful back to Clark.
"Sooner rather than later, hm?" Jada teased what he had said, a small smile playing on her lips. "Well, I hope sooner too, maybe at your swim meet," Jada added with a wink, before she turned away. She assumed he was leaving and she wanted to have the last word.
