The only book I have on my shelf that fits is Rules for Perfect Murders which I've meaning to get to for a while.


I've found a few that will work. I'm not sure what I'm going with yet. I might read The Off Limits Rule or True Fiction by Lee Goldberg. I think this is first time that I'm happy the search function on my TBR includes words that are imbedded in the author's name. lol

The challenge for April is to real a book with the root word gold or root word Rule is in the title or author's name. That's it. Pretty simple right?
General Rules:
1. The book may be in any format - paperback, ebook, audiobook.
2. The book may be combined with the Year Long Challenge and the Group Themed Read.
3. The book must be started and read between April 1 -April 30, 2023 (based on your local time zone).
4. The challenge is for one book. You may read more books if you chose but you may only report one.
5. The book must be 175 pages or more determined by the issue you read.
In the case of ebooks & audiobooks, use the hardcover or paperback edition to determine page length. From the book page, select “all editions”, then select the first paper edition as your guide. If reading an ebook and there is no paper edition, the ebook book must be at least 250 pages. If reading an audiobook and there is no paper edition, your book must be a minimum of 6 hours long.
Scoring:
Title:
5 pts - if the title contains both "gold" or "rule", including embedded or modified.
4 pts - if the title contains "gold" or "rule" as is without it embedded or modified.
Author:
5 pts - if the author's name is either "gold" or "rule" as is without it embedded or modified.
4 pts - if the author is male and deceased.
Genre:
5 pts - non-fiction
4 pts - historical fiction
3 pts - mystery
Pages:
1 pt - 200-299
2 pts - 300 - 399
3 pts - 400 - 499
4 pts - 500 - 599
Bonus Points (3 pts each)

◾ Alcohol Awareness Month - Alcohol beverage on the cover
◾ Fiddler's Frolic - Title has two words that start with the same letter, doesn't have to be F, but take an extra point if it is.
