There are five clean contemporary Cowboy romances about five brothers starting with Janette Rallison's "The Cowboy and the Girl Next Door" which are fun. (All clean, sweet romances, although I think there is one swear in the second book.) I also just recently recommended to someone Kelly Oram's "Girl at Heart" which is SO cute, romantic, and squeaky clean.
If you want historical I've loved Sally Britton's stuff.
Yes i think the one who recommended Girl At Heart to me was you haha! I was gonna read it but saw it has a love triangle which i run away from SMDJDU i will definitely check the ones you told me right now thank you sm!!
Oh, I wouldn't call it a love triangle. She starts out having a crush on someone, and he doesn't like her back, but another boy swoops in and the whole thing is about their blossoming relationship. But you don't have to read it, I just really liked it. ;)
I second Sally Britton. Her Inglewood series is my favorite. If you haven’t tried Sarah M Eden yet for historical, please do! She’s great and has tons of books in multiple series. I like her regency.
One more historical romance I really enjoyed was Georgiana’s Secret by Arlem Hawks
Meet me in the margins by Melissa Ferguson is a cute clean contemporary rom-com
Oh yes i do love Sally Britton and Sarah M. Eden! I went through all their books and read what i liked but i guess i should give a second chance to those i skipped since I don't have another choice (◠‿◕) thank u
I, like you, avoid love triangles. And I prefer romances with gentle growth of understanding rather than stupid misunderstandings, pique, and wrong assumptions. Some humor helps too. If those parameters sound like something you’d like, here are a few suggestions…Have you read anything by D. E. Stevenson? Some of hers are quite good. Her Deering Family trilogy starts off slowly but really shines in #2 and #3. and her Miss Buncle trilogy is good too.
Do you like Austenesque?
More Than a Pretty Face, by Frances Reynolds
The Last Miss Bennet, by Wynn Mabry
Four Days in April, by Maria Grace
(Maria Grace has a free short story, A Locket and a Promise, on her website if you’re interested: https://randombitsoffascination.com/s...
Other romance?
The Blue Bedroom and Other Stories by Rosamunde Pilcher
Finally Forever Yours, by Madison McAuley
Debbie Macomber has some cute contemporary romances. I liked “Last One Home." For more of a YA feel, "Since You've Been Gone" by Morgan Matson is kind of fun. I also enjoyed “Room Maid” by Sariah Wilson and “Meet Me There” by Judy Corry. They are all pretty clean. You could also go to cleanauthors.com. They have tons of clean romances that they give ratings for so you can make your own educated decisions. Good luck!
Thinking back. If you decide to read Rosamunde Pilcher’s collection of short stories I might suggest her collection entitled “Flowers in the Rain” instead..The Blue Bedroom is good, but Flowers, in my opinion is the slightly better of the two collections that were published, and a bit more romantic. :-)
If you are open to Christian authors, Denise Hunter, Colleen Coble, Rachel Hauck, and Courtney Walsh are good options. Coble has some suspense to her stories. Hunter is definitely Hallmark-ish.
The Christy Miller series is one of my favorites. They take place all the way from high school to college to beyond. Robin Jones Gunn is pretty clean. She does a lot of different romance books (all clean, from what I’ve read), with a Christian influence. I love the friendships as well.If you don’t want a Christian one, the Lady Darby mystery series is pretty clean and it’s got a really cute romance. I can’t remember the author though. The first one is “The anatomist’s wife.”
Just a thought which might help, there are two threads in this group with book ideas that are clean. One is 'Promos/Giveaways/Freebies' and the other is 'News from/for our clean authors'.I expect I'm saying this too late as there have been so many good suggestions for you already :)
becca, thanks for the mystery suggestion. Anna Lee Huber is the author.for romance, I've been enjoying Martha Keyes books. she has a few good series.
Hey, I love romances too but prefer clean ones! My new favorite genre is historical romances, especially regency romance. If you read any "proper romance" books, they will likely be appropriate. I can't promise every one of them will be, but I've read soo many of that genre and have yet to find any inappropriate content inside! If you are open to regency romance, I would highly recommend Jullianne Donaldson. Her book Edenbrooke is my favorite book ever and entirely clean. I am very strict with what I consider 6 I definitely love and approve of that book. My top recommendation for sure! I read it 5 or 6 times all within a few months! Hope you like it!
Let me know if you want any other clean romance recommendations! Good luck!!
I’m a big fan of Janette Oke’s books. I haven’t read most of them but the ones I have have been clean. She’s a Christian romance author.
I read a variety of books, but I don't like being hit with a graphic sex scene in the middle of a romance. Most of them just seem jarring. The House on Blackberry Hill by Donna Alward is a nice clean romance that I read recently. You can put "clean romance" in a search on Amazon and lots of books come up. Debbie Macomber's books are clean.
My Santina Series is clean as well with humor and light romance.
Happy Reading!
Clean romance: I just finished a new book by D.M. Tregaskis titled "The Lonely Mortician." It's a fun little story and I think it's currently free on Amazon. It's not really high-level literature, but sometimes I like "Good and Plenty" candy instead of "Dark chocolate Truffles"...if you know what I mean. It's clean, too.
I have lots of clean romance recommendations on my bookstagram account. Some of my favorite authors are Savannah Scott, Emma St. Clair, Leah Brunner, Jenny Proctor, Natalie Walters, Audra Wells, Martha Keyes. They are a variety of rom com, historical romance, and romantic suspense.
I add my agreement to those who suggested Sarah M Eden (The Jonquil Brothers series is phenomenal!), and Sally Britton (Inglewood series, and Branches of Love series). You also MUST read Edenbrooke and Heir to Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson. I read them twice in less than a month. Squeaky clean and so many swoons! Plus some amazing laugh out loud moments as well.
