Books by women whom have overcome opposition are always uplifting to me. Recently, I've read Bossypants by Tina Fey and #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso. Both of these women wrote books about their rise to the top and their messy beginnings. Tina Fey proved that the road to success is awkward and weird, but it's better to laugh it off and keep moving on. #Girlboss, a story of a homeless hippy turned CEO, showed me that people can change and grow while still being true to themselves. With all the stress and opposition in life, these humorous books make life seem a little less serious and convince you to keep moving forward.

But I know, for myself at least, that it would be nice to do a little mental sprucing up, too.
