The Star Wars Stacks discussion

Let's discuss our March book, Heir to the Jedi! This is the third book in the "new" canon and the first novel focusing on one of the "big three" characters. Not only that, but it's telling a Luke story from his first person perspecitve! This is a big test for new canon and we're looking forward to hearing what you all think!

I'm about 99% finished (in preparation for recording next week) and I'm going to have a lot of things to say about this one. Without spoiling what I'll say on the show, I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

I really wanted to like this one, but to me it read like Star Trek fan fiction, written by Ian Flemming. Nothing canon-worthy happened.

I enjoyed the perspective, but the rest was a big "meh..."

I wasn't really a fan of this one either. It wasn't bad, I just wasn't that interested in the plot. Although, I did think that the Givin were a really interesting species and I wanted to learn more about them.
