read so many books you get sick of reading. the best way to get inspiration is by looking at different examples.
also, try to reward yourself.
instead of writing 1000 words a day, write 600. or 100. whichever number gets you writing something down on the paper.

Reagan | 34 comments Write a little bit everyday (or almost everyday). It could be 50 words or less. It could be 10 words. Eventually, you'll start to want to write more than just that. And before you stop each day, write down somewhere what scene or whatever that you want to write the next day, so when you back to it the next day, you already know what to write.

Ellie Kremer (levisquad888) | 18 comments A way I found helps with my writers block is to take a break from what’s your writing, read other books, and watch tv shows. I know it sounds counter productive, but for me, watching how other authors and writers create their worlds and characters, take notes, and apply that to what I’m currently writing.

Miss Eleven (misseleventhesecond) What works for me is I take a break from what I'm writing right now, look on the internet for different writing prompts and write short stories from some of them. There are a lot of interesting ones.

Tianna | 34 comments One thing that often gives me great inspiration is music. One little writing exercise you can do is to take a song, and then write a short little story, or scene, or whatever, based on it. For example, I could How Far I'll Go (from Moana) and write a story about a hero who just wants more than the life she has. OR, I could write about a struggling hero who is pushing her morals farther and farther into the dark.

Just getting the words flowing onto paper can help you a lot.

an ungraceful swan I have two to three writers block fixes and usually at least one of them works for me.

1) This really only works if you have lots of wips, but I put a list of them on a random wheel generator and spin it. After it's selected a wip, I use a random number generator 1-500 and set a word count goal. Then I try and hit it on the wip selected.

2) This is very similar, but I just open up all of my projects and try to write 100 words on each one and rinse and repeat. Smaller goals help me push through as long as I remember the words don't need to be good they need to be written.

3) Writers sprints. Find (force) one of your friends to do a 30 min writing sprint with you and just force the words out. Don't think, just write.

Achilles4life | 4 comments I find that just writing dialogue and having fun with your characters is super useful to cure writing block. it helps you carve out your characters better and it helps work out dynamics between characters. It also is just fun to write!
