I think the most remarkable thing is Bree dropping her old life to move to New York and take care of her niece and nephew. She has changed so much from the first book in the series. Now she has a family, friends, and a serious relationship with the man in her life. That is a lot of change in one year.
I loved how everyone has a horse so they can ride together. It was sweet that no one objected to Kayla naming the horses. They all love her so much. Most remarkable to me is seeing how much Matt's family blends in with this group. The kids can have grandparent figures in their life who are good role models. Hopefully at some point it will be official.
I love what you both described! I hadn’t thought about the impact of Matt’s family on the children.
Bree’s moving to New York and having Dana retire and come with her changed all of their lives. They created a new family, one none of them had ever experienced, out of tragedy. The kids have a new path to recovery and those horses are added therapy. They made the best out of awful circumstances.
