I got this book early from my library, and have already finished it. I think I was in the right mood to read something goofy, because I found it entertaining. It's so bad that it's good, but I couldn't put it down. Just when I thought the story couldn't get any worse, it did. I think the author never would've published it, but the intro says it was "found" after her death and published then. (Someone wanted the money, I guess.)
To make it even more fun, I kept picturing the actress Judy Holliday (https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0391062/ ) as Janet. The book really seemed a product of the Fifties, which is when it was first written, in many ways. Judy Holliday just fit right in, for me.
Anyway, this book is true Classic Trash. I had fun reading it.
