Great American Read List discussion

The novel for May 2023 is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This appears at #15 on the Great American Read List and has a Goodreads rating of 3.93. The book was published in 1925 but did not become popular until WWII after Fitzgerald's death in 1940.

When we had to read this in high school I never finished, primarily because I was bored with it. I reread it last month for multiple challenges and liked it much more. As an adult it’s easier to pick up on the foreshadowing and so much more that a younger, inexperienced reader might miss. While I actually finished and liked it more this time around, it’s never going to be one of my favorite books.
