Mary Higgins Clark is always good. I'm soon reaching the end of my MHC reading marathon and finished reading "Two Little Girls in Blue".
Parallel I'm rereading "The Winds of War" by Herman Wouk. In Germany the novel was split in 3 books, in the US it's 2 books.
