(view spoiler)[I was shipping Serilda and the Erlking in the first book and now this sequel is teasing me with it some more... I know he's evil but I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers and I love their bickering interactions so much. I'm wondering if it's going to go anywhere and if he's going to fall for her for real and she's going to take advantage of it or anything. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Okay, there was no romance with the Erlking, lol. I thought it was a good story, and I loved the parts where the original story parts came through in unexpected ways, but I do feel it could've used a LOT of trimming because this was long but not much happened at all most of the time. It was still a good book, I just think it should be much shorter.

I'm disappointed we never knew the princess' name. I never cared much for the romance - I found it kind of boring - so the deaths didn't really strike me hard as I figured he's just going to be brought back to life anyway. Did not see Wyrdith being Serilda's mother coming though, I thought it was going to be one of the ghosts/dark ones in the castle. So that was interesting. (hide spoiler)]

I'm having a hard time picking it up for some reason lol, hopefully soon!

It's on my Libby list I'll get to it eventually but I currently need to read 17 books in 15 days because all my holds came in the same size sooo that's not great
