Yeah chapter 13 ends at page 56 for me which is insaneeeee i love teeny chapters!I'll update you guys after I'm done on the 2nd :)

Okay, yes. I do NOT like the writing even though the plot seems interesting. I just finished reading chapter 16 and up until now, everything is a mystery and Avery's luck seems too good to be true. It is fast paced, yes and I like that the chapters are so short.

I'm falling behind on the daily chapters we decided to read but I'll try to catch up tomorrow.

Just finished chapter 38 and I don't know if the writing improved or I somehow got used to it but I'm really enjoying it now. The mystery is getting to me and has me totally hooked. I don't know which Hawthorne is my favorite atm. And I went in totally blind with this one so I have no idea who Avery is going to end up with. I wonder if this is going to be an RH romance? That might be intriguing. Lol.

I'm at chapter 52 and I'm so puzzled. The mystery is very intriguing but the characters are all falling flat for me? I just want to know more about them haha

I like Grayson. Moody and arrogant though he might be. Haha. Enemies to lovers trope is my forever Achilles heel.

I hate the misogyny so much. She's constantly being told she's just an object in their game, she's being constantly undermined, page 252 the dialogue about her bodyguard, I literally hate the tone so much. I'm praying it'll get better because currently i don't like her or the men or the message she's portraying by believing everything the men are saying

There's definitely a lot of misogyny. Even the fact that Libby is the problem in her relationship because she constantly falls for her boyfriend's apologies pisses me off. It sends the message that men aren't bad because they do bad things, they're bad because women don't call them out on it. I mean why is it even a woman's responsibility to improve the man?

For real, it's so frustrating, this book was written in 2020! UGHHH im reading to chapter 80 today but unless she grows some personality or they stop putting the women down, this is going to be a 3 star read for me

I'm so far behind you, it's not even funny. I won't be reading your review (to save myself from any possible spoilers) until I'm done reading as well. It'll probably take me two more days. Oh and July readathon starts July 8th and I'm definitely going to be falling short this month. *sigh*

It's a 3★ read for me too. Unless something goes too wrong (or too right).

I'm gonna give it 2.5 and I'm going to write a rant review about the misogyny. Don't worry about being behind! If we do end up reading the other two then we can go a bit slower, I don't want to rush you <3 Let me know what you think when you finish!

thanks for being so understanding about this. I'll probably finish next week maybe because it's not holding my attention all that much and it won't count in my readathon challenge. lol. I'd really like to read the follow up books with you because I don't think I'll read them on my own otherwise.
